      Thank you! That is such a nice message, TH-cam is a lot more work than I thought it would be and I'm really passionate about sharing what I've learned with people who can benefit from it. Your comment just means so much 🙏😊
      If you have Boulder opal, Chert, Agate etc in your area then you should definitely get a UV flashlight! Be careful though, I wasted a lot of money and a lot of time shipping stuff back to Amazon, on the wrong lights. 365nm is What you're looking for and it's best to make sure it has the filter for looking at minerals. Always include minerals in the search bar, the ones you see advertised for looking at scorpions also work.
      I also recommend that you follow me on Facebook or Instagram so that we can exchange pictures!
      If you just search the Rockhounding gemologist you'll find it.
      Thanks again! Micki

    Hi can you help ID the rock in my thumb nail ,found in Australia ,the face book groups dont understand this subject and pass it off as sandy opal ,yet this rock grows Brite orange under UV 365nm ,it also has a green gem that can been seen in natural light and its pinky crimson color with red and green flicks , what gems could glow orange like this under uv 365 ?

    • @RockhoundingGems
      @RockhoundingGems  วันที่ผ่านมา

      For bright orange the following comes to mind; Sphalerite, Calcite, Chert (and other microcrystalline quartz) and Opal. I'd really need to see a picture. Will you email me a picture? Rocks@wetmountains.com ? Or you can message me on Facebook "The Rockhounding Gemologist" though an email I'm much more likely to see 😉 I'm sure I can help you if I can see a picture
