Imagine you have a special clock that uses atoms to tell time. Atoms are tiny building blocks that make up everything around us. Inside this special clock, there are some atoms that vibrate or wiggle back and forth very quickly. These vibrations happen at a super regular and predictable rate, like a metronome ticking. The number of vibrations tells us how much time has passed. It's like counting how many times you jump up and down to know how much time you spent playing. The special clock also has a regular clock inside it, like the one you might have on your wall. The regular clock helps keep track of time in case the atoms get a little bit off.
