That must cost thousands to manufacture and impressive too. And to top it all a cheap aluminium ladder to attach simple ropes to extract what appears to be foot rams.. All in all, it almost top heavy...to even be driven..with those wheels somewhat at their inflation limit.. Great tool ..👍😁

Robert Taylor. the undercarriage without boom weights 108t, this seems like the 52m boom with Y suspension so that would be 77t. There's also a 100m boom with Y suspension available, weighting 100t.

Man that is awesome you get to see the crane at work detaching the boom unit from the crane. As well you getting to sit in the cab of one. Nice. How long it take for them to take the boom apart?... You sir had a great front row seat watching them at work. -Thumbs up-
@Johan Rodrigues because the crane with the boom would exceed the weight limits of any public road. Actually, the carrier alone weighs 108 ton which is the maximum weight allowed for a nine axle crane in most countries.
That Is one machine that I would never want to own. Must be a real nightmare dealing with the fallout when something breaks. Just imagine if the thing breaks the transmission on the way to a big job. The tow bill would probably be $20k alone. Then it would be in the shop for months too. Too expensive to own 2 of them so you would also loose all of the jobs you had booked with it and have a bunch of pissed off customers to deal with as well. You would almost have to team up with another company to have them cover your jobs if your crane is down for repairs. Sounds like a royal pain in the ass having that thing.

@@perlamiseriaccia To be more specific, in the configuration shown in the video that crane weighed 185 tons with the boom, and 108 tons without it... which is still more than twice as heavy as what you're normally allowed to drive on most European public roads without getting a special permit. And that's just the crane and boom, there's anywhere from 100 to upwards of 400 tons of additional stuff needed to actually lift anything. (between 62 and 202 tons of counterweight alone, plus 40 tons of weight spreaders, plus a hook....and up to 150 tons of lattice mast sections for the top of the boom...)

Pretty much every vehicle involved in moving one of these things will be so heavy they'e restricted to 30 mph/50 kph, with an escort to make sure people stay clear. There's a special trailer just for moving that crane boom, and special trailers for handling the counterweight, some of which have seven or eight axles for just the trailer to keep the per axle weight down as they load up sixty to eighty ton of steel blocks on them... This one is (so far) the biggest of the lot, when it comes to wheeled cranes, but then you get to the tracked ones and they get really insane.
