chris topher shajar (tree) is standard or formal arabic, while shagar (which is the word he said) is in egyptian dialect. So karim had better chose the standard not the dialect.

It has nothing to do with her being from Canada. It's mostly has to do with how her parents speak to her at home. The U.S. Has a lot of young people who have a pretty good Portuguese, Spanish, Japanese, Russian, etc accents because their parents taught them how to properly speak the language growing up. It all depends on how you were taught at home. My accent changes every time I speak a different language. My accent never stays the same.

Not sure why some people are roasting these two for being bilingual. I think it's great that they can understand and speak another language, even if they're not fluent, and even if they're accent isn't 'perfect'. I'm half British and half Portuguese, so I could understand her Spanish. Ok her accent wasn't perfect but we've all got to understand that there are variations of Spanish! There are are different Spanish accents. People who speak Spanish from Majorca are not going to have the same accent, or 'lingo' as some one from Argentina or Mexico, and I'm sure that goes for the Arabic language too, as it also does for the Portuguese language. People, let's not be ignorant. Let's Embrace our knowledge of other languages!
