I'm in Central Florida awaiting the arrival of Hurricane Helene. Thanks to your teaching videos, I am fully prepared. I have matches, tealights, candles, shelf stable milk, canned goods, styrofoam cups, wound care kits, OTC meds, hygiene products, etc all from The Dollar Tree. Also water and coffee!! I feel prepared. Wish me luck!!😂
Hey trish. Another Central Florida resident waiting for Helene. We are all hoping and praying that she goes right on by. But no matter what we're prepared because Jinni taught us!😊
Your videos have had a profound change on me. I can't thank you enough. I'm 62 and new to "prepping" and I'm grateful for your down to earth, sensible approach to everything you talk about. My fave videos are your meals in a jar, and of course your dollar tree. Take good care Laurie
Yay more matches!😂 My biggest suggestion is to buy a lot of canned veggies packed in water. That water can be used to rehydrate other foods and is drinkable too.
Right a lot of people drain and throw it away. If you want to heat the vegetables without the liquid, you can just freeze what you drain in ice cube trays, freeze and put in ziploc bags or in a container and use it for soup or stew stock. Also if you prefer lower sodium, just discard and rinse the vegetables. Heard that can reduce the salt by half or more.
Keep them fluffies safe, for sure! Good job! We have padlocks & chains for every gate and exterior door on our little place. The boundary fence gates are kept padlocked. The rest are locked at night or as needed. Will be walking fencelines this morning ahead of ol' Helene. While we are on the 'good ' side & will mostly get tropical storm force winds/rain, there are folks out there that will be checking to see what might be easily acquired in the next few days. Blessings from NW Florida!
@@brendanelson1027thank you for thinking about all of us on the west coast. I'm in Hernando County and I'm a little scared of this storm. I live with my brother and sister in law. My brother is already for this storm. He had our generator and propane ready to go . Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers. God Bless You and your family
@@brendabollinger1637 Praying Our Lord minimize this storm. Will definitely keep you & yours in prayer this day. May the Lord bless you & keep all in the path of this storm from harm.
I’ve been buying a little bit at a time. Restocked green beans canned, t.p, some condensed sweetened milk, water, tooth paste, I just keep stocking on sales. We hit the Amish discount store Sat. And got quite a bit! You can use those foam cups to drink soup out of also!
Those little alarms do work great! I've even used them in hotel rooms while traveling for peace of mind. I love that they are so portable and they are loud!
Thanks, Jinne. I love your $Tree hauls! Thanks to you, I have enough matches to last me into the next decade. 😊 You are the brightest light on You Tube. 🥰
I did a good haul this past weekend from the dollar tree. It was pretty well stocked so that was nice to walk into. I even added the 2025 calendars to my stock up.
Put your berries (washed and dry) in a quart mason jar and store in the fridge. It preserves the fruit for more than a week!! I never thought it would work, but it’s amazing!!
When I am not feeling good, there is Nothing like a Cup of Hot Broth or Hot Tea. It's comforting.. Our Dollar Tree seems to have lots of empty shelf Spots. I am hoping they are going to be filling up those spots soon. I need some things lol.
Great haul for such a low price! I'll be looking for the door/window alarms! You found some great stuff! I'm with you, when we're facing an emergency, I have to have my coffee, and foam cups make sense!
ran into dollar tree today...southwest Florida...not a smart move every one there was buying storm preps..irritating as it has been hurricane season since June..but I digress. I needed more of the dole pine apple...husbands favorite snack and does not affect his blood sugar...and found..beyond my belief, Margaret holmes canned spinach !!! It is our favorite brand of canned vegetables, but recently went to a cheaper brand...We prefer fresh spinach, but having cans around is important. Canned spinach is up to over $2 a can, some at $3...So I sat down on the floor and dug every single one of them off the bottom shelf... It was the ONE canned vegetable we were down to zero on...now have 24..Will be checking the other dollar trees to see if they got them..dated mid 2027 . I think that is a big thing people need to "get" when they start prepping. Yes, set a budget..but when you find something less than half the price of anywhere else, that you use often BUY it. It wont be cheaper next week, it may not even be available next week. We also stock up on our A1 sauce there...I can get two, that have more in them than 1 anywhere else. Certain things...yes..any steak sauce will "work"...but life is better when you have what you like...Ask me about our Dukes mayo stock pile :)
Please don’t yell at me, but I went to Walmart and bought some bags of cereal. I got 10 bags anywhere from 5 to 7 dollars and I now have seven cases of cereal that’s a lot of food put back something to lighten up the kiddos if things get rough. I think I did good
Please don’t worry what others think and say about how bad cereal is for people, in a grid down no food situation, it will make the kiddos full and happy. The morale will be bad enough let alone worried about chemicals. Love me some convenient ready to eat cereal 😊.
When the "fecal matter hits the oscillation unit" all these cage free all organic folks would be happy to have cereal to feed their hungry kids. As long as your family has food to eat, you are doing a great job Mama.
You can also vacuum seal cereal. My husband likes Malt O Meal Frosted Flakes, so we buy the big bag, double bag it into the custom made vacuum plastic bag & vacuum seal it, stopping the process when the package stiffens up as the air is removed. So far, the bags sealed 4 years ago are still crisp & tasty.
I really enjoy these videos, we don't have Dollar Tree in Australia but I still get some great ideas. I'm getting the door/window alarms because we rent our house and they are easy to install without damaging anything.
I store my pasta in ziplock bags with a teaspoon of of diatomaceous earth sprinkled in the bag… just in case one comes in with a box.. my daughter in laws preps got infested!
Hair really looks nice. I like to watch your halls because rarely we have many of the things you have. However, we did have that soup in and I got a couple of cans. I figured if I didn’t like it, I could donate it to the local food bank. But I love it! Did you get any of those one dollar frontier cans of beans. They had garbanzo, pinto, black, and dark red kidney beans. They’re there only for a short time to see how they sell. I hope you can get in on it. They are very good. I love to take garbanzo beans rinse them Off. Seasoning them with garlic powder or garlic salt, or any other kind of flavoring I want and dehydrate them. They put those other snacks to shame, especially corn nuts.!
I don't mind the foam cups to much for cold stuff . It releases chemicals when heat is added. At least that's what the scientist say 😅. But foam been out for years way before plastic and it can be used in garden to help absorb water. I say it's a good add to preps . Thanks for sharing your finds hun . I did try dollar tree in my areas but food is really low in them stores. So many at need these days.
I went to dollar tree today. My store is very small. I was able to get a few item you've shown. Some I know I've just overlooked some in the past. Yes I bought lentils OK now to get brave and cook. Ha ha thanks for all you do.
If you're really concerned about fire starting, why don't you invest in a mini torch which can be found in kitchen supply stores. It's used to light flambees, caramelize sugar, brown meats, etc. They're piezo electric & they attach to butane & propane bottles. I found one for about $12 online.
If you hear on the news to prep for power outages - take all the reusable waterbottles you have and fill them. Right now I have 12 32oz nalgenes in our office - fill and if you don’t need them water the plants of use for washing up
Jinne, I have a question. Is it okay to “recan/jar” pop top canned foods and boxed liquid foods for long term storage? I’ve seen people doing it, but I would like some pro tips on this from you. If you have the time, I would appreciate it. 🙌🏻🇺🇸❤️
I just went to Target and their pacific definitely was $ 3.19 I need to look at our dollar tree her in Florida. It target did have lots on clearance for under $ 2.00 Thanks for all your information Stay safe and well Also Kroger delivery had red gold tomatoes for $ 1.00!
That was a good haul!! I just finished dehydrating carrots, green beans, broccoli and Brussel sprouts. I do have a question for you or anyone that reads my post....can I can chicken breasts that is store bought?
I pressure. canned 7 jars of chicken. Yesterday because it was on sale raw pack with a dash of salt and water also stew meat, works great!! 7 5 mins for pints.I follow the Ball Blue book
The Thai Sweet Potato soup wasn't all that good, in my opinion. I found it at my discount store for 25 cents a can. I think it could be jazzed up though! Maybe some veggies and hot sauce would help.
I went today and the store looked like a tornado hit it. Most of the stuff you got, I didn't even see there. I did stock up on the tuna/cracker kits. Have you tried the Chicken of the Sea imitation crabmeat? I'm going to go to another one on the other side of town.

Did a small stock up myself today. I think I have enough and then I worry we will never have enough. Such a scary time we find ourselves in.
That's the truth!
Totally off topic….but I have installed “key locks” on my chicken coops…..gotta keep my girls safe! The window alarms would be helpful too!

🎯 Yes! I will be sooooo thankful when the election is OVER! One way or the other, I am just tired of everyone yelling at each other 🤯
You forgot to get the shelf life milk in a carten. Only 1.25. It last for years in your pantry. And its not bad tasting. Thank you for your videos

put them in a travel bag

Ours too. I was just there and noticed a pretty low inventory.
@brownville13615 ours has been rather low for about a year. It Spooky. We are Loosing Big Lots and and a Dollar General aswell.

Fantastic haul.
I wish my dollar tree had those door and window alarms
Wow! All that for $30! Good job!
you are such a kind soul! thanks for your videos!
I've stored the large 20 cups per bag and the smaller 45 cups per bag. Besides hot beverages we prepare foods with hot or boiling water.
Didn't think of this ,, thanks!!!

U did great! Cereal will be in short supply, I think. 😊
I don't buy cereal anymore. It's full of chemicals that are really bad for kids. Hate to say. Maybe make your own

I'm in SWFL and touching on the water front- get a water Bob! It saved us during ian!!!
Matches👍👍👍
Hi Jinnie. I like the Pacific soups. You got some really good deals.
Thanks for showing us. 😊
Foam cups good for oatmeal and instant noodles too. 😊

you always come up with something I did not think of, thank you so much!!
Those little cup things are really nice, it keeps vegetables off the bottom, been using them for year's,
I love those scoops too
Foam cups work good for soup.
I like sun flower seeds in a smashed banana on top of waffles. Greetings from Philadelphia PA USA
Thanks, I will be getting to DT, SOON😊
Good items.
Get the hydration drink mixes too, they have the the Pure Kick brand there for 1.25 and in other stores they are almost 4 dollars.
Ive had that Pacific soup its really good

Do you have a grid-down laundry video? Without an electric dryer, most things air-dry to be very stiff and scratchy.
I use lock n lock food containers for leftovers you waste foil and Saran wrap doesn't keep a tight seal on food
I haven’t found the window and door alarms in my Dollar Tree. 😢 I definitely hope to find one. I have one window that gives me concern.
I picked up the Pacific Organoc Soups here in SW FL last week. Great deal !!
Great items

Matches?😄
thanks, always enjoy seeing what you bought. good deals at $tree and some things are cheaper elsewhere.
I get matches every time I go also
Nice haul
Awesome video video thank you
I can water after boiling tap water for 5-10 minutes..
Do you write the expiration dates on the top of your cans? So you can rotate?
Thanks Jinne
How do you store your pastas, for long term storage. I prefer no boxes. Thank you
1/2 GAL or QT canning jars or food saver bags for me
Ty jinny😊
That was a good haul!!
I just finished dehydrating carrots, green beans, broccoli and Brussel sprouts.
I do have a question for you or anyone that reads my post....can I can chicken breasts that is store bought?
I parboiled mine in chicken broth and then canned. Haven't eat yet, but looks great in jars
Yes, but you have to pressure can chicken not water bath. Follow any Ball recipe or another reputable source.
@@libertyandjustus8258 ABSOLUTELY, i don't water bath at all.

Do you recommend keeping nuts and seeds in the freezer or fridge? They do go rancid.
Do you use any type of vacuum sealer bags and machine?

I have several of those little containers - they work really well
I just stocked up on canned veggies that were on sale for .98 cents per can! Better than Dollar Tree
I just went to Target and their pacific definitely was $ 3.19 I need to look at our dollar tree her in Florida. It target did have lots on clearance for under $ 2.00 Thanks for all your information Stay safe and well
Curious as to what you store in five gallon buckets? I am just getting started in storing them and could use some tips and ideas.
I can never find those scoops. What section of DT, do you find them?
At my store they are always hanging on a rack on the wall with other kitchen gadgets.
Just watch out for Bioengineered foods at this store. I dunno how the Bioengineer the foods.
Dont fall for the organic ..
Yuck
Some aren't worth getting but some are.
Walmart is cheaper.
Did you ever try the sweet teriyaki sauce? Mine wasn't sweet, seemed like soy sauce.
