The British press (Terrorizer Magazine) slagged them off so much I remember seeing them here in 2002 or so with about 50 people showing up. All because of the drum machine! How silly.

Seit damals kamen musikalisch noch Gothic , neue deutsche Todeskunst , Martial und Dark Ambient hinzu. Mein ganzes Leben werde ich dieser Musik treu bleiben , nur die Haare sind mittlerweile ab .Auf Deathmetal-Konzerten fehlen sie mir aber immer wieder sehr . Insgesamt ist es für mich immer wieder verstörend auf heutigen Konzerten kaum lange Mähnen und wirklich ( gekonntes ) Headbangen zu sehen . Deathmetalkonzerte ohne Mähnen.....da fehlt mir ein grosser Bestandteil des Gesamtpacketes " Deathmetal "
I didn't know that weird fact about their drummer, it really looks weird but apparently they are industrial metal. I can't hear the bass at 5:18 and the bass player tried to fix it at 7:46! I only came for Baphomets Throne!
Xy played actual drums back when this was recorded. I think Passage was the first album they did drum programming vs the real thing... A shame they don't do real drums in concert for those older songs, kind of weak in my opinion
@@blindguardian1979 Fortubnately they have the project called Worship And Ritual where they play songs from Worship Him and Blood Ritual with live percussion

Una de las bandas más sobrevaloradas del metal extremo. Samael fue bueno en sus primeros dos trabajos y de ahí en adelante nada bueno, es más, ni baterista usan.
Samael ha hecho muchos cambios en su música, y aún cuando muchos no están de acuerdo, ellos siguen siendo unos de los mejores actos del metal. Sin importar los comentarios. El proyecto WAR sin duda muestra cuan importante es su pasado para ellos, pocas bandas han seguido una idea como esa, por lo esa es una de las razones que aún hace samael importante. Para contestar tu comentario, no, no es una banda sobrevalorada. Tampoco es 7na banda de black metal underground como lo eran antes, pero sigue siendo samael, y quien sea debe de reconocer a la banda por lo que fue, y es.
