Many years ago, way way back, I was finishing my lesson plans for the grade 9 mathematics classes I taught in Thailand. My 3 year old Thai granddaughter was sitting on my lap. It was magic entering her life when this song started to play. She lifted her head up, a big smile broke out on her face and she started flapping her arms as if she was trying to fly. Khaopun who is now 16, was, is and always will be my angel in the first degree.
I was only 6 at the time. How far has music come since then? He’s still the benchmark to aim at for me. Great to hear the other verse on this one. Tell a tale of old Manhattan...
Dennis, Allan, JD and I use to listen to this song back in the early 70s in Quincy IL on Jersey St . It brings back alot of memories. Dennis is no longer with us. We miss you every day Rest in Peace our friemd.
You can take all the tea in China And put it in a big brown bag for me Sail it around on the seven oceans And drop it straight into the deep blue sea She's as sweet as tupelo honey She's an angel of the first degree She's as sweet as tupelo honey Just like the real thing. From the bee They can't stop us on the road to freedom Yeah. . . .
Love this song. Thank you for this version! It’s me and my boyfriend’s song. He sent it to me before we started dating and from that moment on I couldn’t stop thinking about him. This is our song forever. LOVE this version! It’s so special to me
Celtic Ray a big thanks, it contains the missing verse, "Tell a tale of old Manhattan ....." @ 2:47.Dusty Springfield is the only artist I have heard ever sing this verse.
I’ve obviously fallen for the same old palaver a second time. This time I can’t afford to stop functioning. My dad kept me alive then. Now he’s not here. I need to go. I don’t know why you do this. It’s all in the game I suppose. But I don’t like these games. Go find someone else to play with. My mind and body are at breaking point.
this and sweet thing unplugged, takes it to a whole other level.
