Amber singing to House at the bar was definitely one of the scariest moments of the show, you can see how terrified House is when he calls Wilson to come get him.
I finally sat down and started watching the full show, and just saw this part the other day. Amber singing was scary as hell, and his face portrayed the fear so well.
The scenes where Amber represented his subconscious were so interesting, they tell us that House is aware of his feelings and emotions, he just pushes them away to avoid being vulnerable. I almost wanted the show to be a book so I could read his thoughts.
Kutner death is what started House mental breakdown despite what he said he liked Kutner and his lose and Amber starts House down the road of no return
@@alexhauser5043 I'm not sure when exactly the decision was made that Kutner had to go, so there might have been some - or they are just coincidences that we see as clues in restrospect. Anyway, in-universe, House definetly missed any possible signs and that is a part of what made him miserable.

Not only was that song haunting AF, it was the same song played at the end of the final episode and is about living life while you can because the end is closer than anyone thinks. Not only does that make it foreshadowing but the idea House's time is finally up is terrifying; Amber might as well have been the literal Reaper on that stage.

She also has been in his head the most. I am not sure if this should also refer to how much he liked amber... I guess that 13 for example is some kind of a daughter for him. She is highly intelligent and he knows that. But then from the first sights... Also his reaction to wilson... When he wanted to point out the things he "disliked" about amber and ended up with "Oh my god.... You are dating MEEE" ... And even wilsons face... He wanted to say something, but it clicked SO fastly, he was out of words on this.... I guess House also had feelings for her as well... They both had some bit of a love , interest connection as well... It is like thirteen....She drugged him out and she was lke "dddaaah?" . I guess NO ONE but 13 could get out of this with house.... He even smiled and was alright with that she got him badly... He even appeared proud like over a daughter... Also, how he is completely honest with 13, and he is basically also the only one she opened herself too... There was such a thing with amber as well but not like "child" like... More like relationship like. Like Wilson said... "You are projecting my dead wife ? ..... Meant something or not... Your brain CHOSE her for a reason...."
This is my actual worst fear. My great-aunt has schizophrenia and hallucinates people she knows/knew telling her all the ways they're going to hurt her and her loved ones. The idea of losing control of my own brain like that scares the living cr*p out of me.
Mental illness really isn't talked about enough. Break your arm and it will heal. What happens when you break your brain? House and Amber were great together. I wish they'd kept her around for a little longer.
The song that Amber sings in the bar is the same one that plays in the series finale. Which could imply that House actually died in the fire and Wilson just keeps imagining him?

I don't know if it's just me, but it sort of seems like they put a different lighting on Amber during the singing scene that sort of clashes against the rest in a really creepy way. The rest of the stage & the building has this sort-of warm, dim lighting whereas she's cast with this harsh, coldly sterile fluorescent lighting. It adds this subtle impression that House's hallucination is a carbon-copied projection from some clinical, hospital-like area. Perhaps even a morgue.
As somebody with type 1 diabetes the scene with the insulin shock was very similar to my own experience with low blood sugar: when it goes low enough things blend together. It is terrifying as your very perception of Reality is out the window
Severe complex PTSD will mess your life up I'm still coming out of a psychotic break, I still don't feel normal. But my hallucinations are more "regular" for what I'm used to experiencing. Doesn't mean i'm okay yet, but I feel a lot better than I was. That constant and severe fear will break you, no matter your age. The character Amber was a bit of a pick me, she was brilliantly intelligent and manipulative, saracastic but sweet, deep down It makes sense to me why House hallucinated Amber
My best friend’s dad has M.S.… he has trouble walking. It’s been interesting learning from hearing her talk about it, vs. just seeing a commercial. He’s an alright guy. 😊
Imagine being a jerk all your life. Then your colleagues and friends die, and you subconsciously blame yourself. Insanity creeps up on you that way. That's the panic you see in House's eyes right there.
I gotta say. Them killing off Amber and Kutner was the WORST part of the show for me. In MY OPINION it didn't serve the story whatsoever and shined a horrible light on House. Both (in theory) would have lived if it weren't for House's actions. Wilson just also forgives house for one of the most traumatic things in the fucking world like it's nothing? I'm no aficionado but I truly think that was poor writing. I'm but a common man with a common mans brain which drives me to think: Who were those deaths written for? I understand Kutner was probably killed off because Kal Penn had other obligations and didn't want to do the show anymore but Amber's death just seemed entirely silly and I dislike it wholeheartedly.

I didn’t watch this show when it was originally on but I gather maybe it went on a season or two too long. Some of these plots seem really far fetched.
The shows went for 60 minutes but they had to condense them to under 10 minutes by taking out unnecessary and repetitive content because the old TVs couldn’t hold anything over 10 minutes. The mondo Houser shows are very short always less than 10 minutes because of the primitive mondo TVs they had back then. The old old old TVs could not hold more than 10 minutes of show even without nipnagel or shnibuts rhetoric as they used CRT Catholic Ray Tubs technology Motorola involvement and non Dylan Mulvaney CLT or Claw Technology. No harm no fowl. Crackhead Barney oversees the southerly wing of the flies we fight as fly fighters. Caitin Clark scores best against them. The fly fighters tried Dylan Mulvaney to shorten the shows advertising and tried to produce a non racist TV set with Motorola involvement with flypaper control and Dylan Mulvaney CEO. The historically correct Crackhead Barney and a prominent associate of Dylan Mulvaney declined comment at that time but was very involved. So was Cat Clark on our side.
