Yes, why are you aloud to talk about the new 2024 plants and others say they are not aloud until may ?????
Also, where do you buy the compost? I only see composted manure at like Lowes and Walmart. Is that the same thing? I have always heard you need to mix it up with your potting soil or garden soil??? Thanks 😊

Don’t know how long it will take for the aqua pot inserts to make it to the marketplace, but they will be worth saving for, in my opinion. These are inserts that will fit into pots you already have, making your own planters into aqua pots. I am sure they will be pricey, but they will allow me to plant in pots, which have always been failures for me simply because of the watering issue.

Boy is Jenny right about not filling your pots with packing peanuts, etc. I tried that a few years ago because a famous gardener said to do it. That was my worst year of container gardening ever!! I just got a big shipment of PW annuals to copy some of their container recipes and I’m so excited!!! 🦋

I've never had a problem using usually plastic water bottles for saving on soul in very large pot's. It work's great for me...now if it was for food I definitely wouldn't do it.

Hi Jenny, love your content (and all of your amazing plants). What is the difference between potting soil and compost? In the UK we only have compost in bags, which we would use to fill pots for annual plantings. We can also buy actual pure soil in bags, but that’s only used to mix with compost for a longer term planting in a pot e.g. a shrub or small tree. I don’t think we have anything called potting soil. Thanks.

Thanks, Jenny! Great info as always. I'm about to plant up my new Aqua pot from Creekside 😊 . 17"w 14"d. Since the soil reservoir doesn't seem very deep, would you still recommend putting a small layer of Land and Sea on top of the initial layer of potting soil, like you demonstrated? Or just use the soil? I'm also guessing that I would only use one scoop of the PW slow release fertilizer? I'm going to use Baby Tut and Dragon Wing begonias for a morning sun, mostly shade afternoon porch. Hoping that the DW can do the hot AM sun if well and consistently watered. You are a great teacher!!

So with you, Jenny, on not filling pots with inorganic materials to save on soil. If you can’t afford the soil, pick a smaller pot and scale. You also don’t know what is leaching into your soil from plastics, styrofoam and other inorganics. It is just contrary to sound, healthy horticulture.

Steve...I disagree ...if you are not eating the plant's. ...they are flower's only for viewing . I have used and will again my absolutely beautiful very large pot for flower's only...other material before planting . It also helps with draining otherwise it would probably stay wet way down deep in the pot which could cause root rot. I always have very beautiful full pot of flower's so they are getting enough soil and food . I feel no shame in doing this. Lol 😉

Will you have to treat the ‘tunia’s for budworms? We have a horrible time here in zone 10b with them.
These containers are and will be spectacular!
Looking forward to see what this year will bring for the water trough by the barn! 😄🪴
