@@al1088aa the other element is moisture lmao. There’s oxygen in the sealed bottle anyway. Moisture evaporates if you leave it open, therefore if you leave it sealed, moisture is trapped and rust forms. Look up instructions for any of the bottle brands. Stanley, yeti, hydro flask. They all recommend you leave it open when storing. Educate yourself.
Take it back to costco, they'll probably refund you.

U left it open for awhile i believe that’s why
You’re supposed to leave it open. It happens if you leave it closed with moisture inside. The water can’t evaporate and it rusts.
