  • Vacuum Flask or Thermos is an insulating storage vessel that greatly lengthens the time over which its contents remain hotter or cooler than the surroundings of the flask. But, how does a thermos flask work?
    Instead of containing any kind of heating or cooling element, so as to keep hot things hot and cold things cold a thermos is designed to in a such a way that it minimizes transfer of heat by not allowing heat to escape or enter easily.

    I never used thermos flasks until recently, so I wasn't informed very well about their features. I always thought they are a bit better in keeping the heat (like 30 minutes longer than normal plastic bottles etc.) by using different material. Was really impressed when I read that they can keep warm drinks warm for several hours thanks to the vacuum.

      Glad that our video gave you an insight about the benefits that a thermos flask offers. You should go in to buy one and enjoy warm drinks in winters and cool drinks in summers !

    I am amazed by the technology. I notice the coffee mug actually gets cooler to touch when it is filled with hot liquid! I wonder why that is!

      When heat is escaping very slowly through the walls, you won't feel it hot. If it feels even slightly warm to the touch, the flask is not doing its job.

    Is there a way to repair heat loss? I dropped my flask then the body conducted the heat.

    • @ExperiHub
      @ExperiHub  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello Sir. You'll have to add an insulating material in order to prevent heat loss. For temporary insulation in the body, you can wrap Aluminium Foil around the body to prevent heat loss. If however the glass inside is broken , then you will have to give it to a vendor to get a new glass fixed from inside.
