The ABB made me put down the violin and take up guitar in. 1970. Been playing ever since. Even named my daughter Melissa. In 1979. My favorite allllllllll time band. I honestly didn't think I could go on after Duane and Barry left way to early, I stayed a long for the ride. Couldn't give up on them. They managed to keep going thru good and bad times. I do love them and the many different line ups thru the years. I don't believe there is another band that can jam a song like these guys did. Their live shows are incredible. I /we were truly blessed to grow up during the best years of rock and roll, rhythm and blues. And still rocking at 66/67 love love 💕🎶😘

This is just one of the tightest bands ever! The blessing of having all of these talented people come together. Every one of them is incredible in their own right.
I was lucky enough to have seen them twice in concert. Without question one of the greatest bands in rock history! RIP Greg you are sorely missed. Thanks for the memories.👍🎹🎤🎸👍

Gregg and Dickey were tight but circumstances would put a big gap between them eventually. Fack is, they needed each other and both were well aware of this. Greatest live jam band to ever take the stage, with any of their ever changing members.
This version is super tight...Betts is superb as usual....!!! Dan Tolers solo is UNBELIEVABLE and the keyboards and vocals...stellar..Never heard this song done better... This is How I will remember Greg... We will truly miss you ...Thanks for so much great music..Daytona mourns their lost son....
Dan Toler was a great guitar player. Saw him with The Greg Allman Band in San Bernardino. Can’t remember the year but it was the I’m No Angel album tour. He was awesome. I don’t remember the wife beater shirt though! Oh and Stevie Ray Vaughan came on after Gregg Allman.
I saw the Allman Brothers in concert in the mid 70's. What a FANTASTIC SOLID SHOW. They are GREAT live!!! They were UNDER RATED!! Such INCREDIBLY talented players!
Never underrated, at least by me. I've saw them over 20 times since the early 70s. By the time Eat A Peach was released, they were being called the best band in this land and maybe more. Sadly they had there problems and in my opinion Enlightened Rogues would be there last great album.
Never seen the original lineup I was to young but I seen them a few times in the 80’s and 90’s and always enjoyed hearing them they are second to none live regardless of there members Gregg didn’t have rookies on stage l will miss this band for sure…
Freaking fantastic playing and singing. They've actually gotten better from when I've heard them years ago. I heard things by the guitars I've never heard before. The coordination in their fingers is just out of this world. And one of the best dual drum solos I've ever heard from anybody. God these guys are good. I've just got to share this with people who've never even heard of The Allman Brothers. Just to shock them alive bro.
Believe it or not my college roommate's brother was Dicky Betts' road manager in Great Southern. Saw them backstage at SDSU outdoor ampitheater in 1978 and got in again backstage in 1979 at the LA Forum. almost tripped over Cher as I tried to get another Budweiser from the trash can they had them in....lol. Had to buy a ticket in 1981 at SDSU but that was totally fine. Then in Vail in 1990, at Harrahs Rincon in 2011. Dicky Betts is one of the best guitarists I've ever seen live and up close. Definitely one of the hottest bands of the 70's, hand down
Until Dicky Betts passed I had forgot about the Allman Brothers Band. Now going back through the old videos I think they were one of the best. What talent they had!
Jay Alan, thanks so much for the backstage passes back in the day. I wish you well wherever you are. Rest in peace Danny Toler. You were super cool to us.
I can not think of a better rockin' blues band than the Allman Brothers. I was in a garage band years ago. My intention was to sound like Gregg. Rip Gregg, Duane, Butch.....
The Allman brothers were the 1st concert I ever saw. I was and my boyfriend was 16. of course, my Dad had to take us. It was in Durham, NC. and it was great. Gregg's beautiful long hair, under the baby blue lights.😇
@@collegeparkwhiteboy Yeah, the FEAT! A very under-appreciated band, in my opinion. Despite losing Paul Barrere, their Let It Roll album is just incredible, never get bored listening to it.
wasn't it nice to see that smile of Greg's toward Dickie around 4:30 in, after a solo? he knew Mr. Betts was killing it- my god, playing the guitar is so hard, and Dickie's barely looking at the fretboard..

Its now 50 yrs ago- in 1970- that I heard Allman Brs band first time- on record- and although my favorites are the Beatles and I like Stones, Kinks, Clapton, Bob Dylan, Eagles, Frank Zappa, Jimi Hendrix, I have rarely enjoyed a Band more than The Allman Brs. Band because they are playing better, more coherent, more in absolute harmony with each other- than virtually any other Band.
Texas Confederate - yes Gregg would have never got over losing his brother. I also have not. My brother Richie was the lead guitar player in our band in Tulsa and was another Dwayne, Dickie, Warren, Derek all rolled into one heluva player. Like the Allman Brothers, we played music together for years from our teens on. We lost Richie in 2009 and you are absolutely right, it never goes away. I still play but sometimes think about leaving it all behind since my brother is also gone. We had fun and some great times playing music and I still miss him, all of it too. To be honest, other players have been great friends and are very good at what they do too but they can never fill that spot.
