I'm really glad you are more focused on not just the functionality of a product but the sustainable side. I feel others are just focused on how pretty it is and never focuse on how wasteful some product packaging are
Something similar is used in palliative care (elastomeric infuser pumps) and they are pretty trusty. It's interesting something similar is being used in beauty stuff
HyVee stores take almost any plastic bag (including clean food package bags!!!) and they're sold to a company that manufactures plastic decking! I even met a few people who've bought the decking, it's durable, non-splintering, and easy to clean!
These are the worst. They hold onto SO much more product than any other component. I suspect it's one of the reasons PMG changed from this to a tube with her primers.
i thought this too but then i realized that consumers don’t really have a way of getting the bag inside the glass bottle if it’s filled with product 🧍🏼♀️ at least not a way i can think of
Hey, how do you get to work in cosmetic packaging? Sounds like an interesting job! Where do I apply to get into a similar field to yours? Is it just beauty brands/companies or a separate manufacturing place? Thanks! Love your content!
Yeah... its not for any of those reasons Its so they can sell you a 6oz bottle with only 4oz of product. And then they tell you its for your benefit. Its just #shrinkflation
I’ve never understood this thought process… the amount of product is labeled on the bottle Do you just not read the amount and buy based on bottle size?
@@Fizzypopization I always look at the oz in a product… I feel like it’s dumb to be shocked by the amount of something when it’s clearly labeled, but I know what you mean! Common sense is not common as they say
Ohhh yeah that little plastic baggie thingy in there is definitely better they definitely don't just wanna make it look like there's way more product then there really is
It looks like latex. The other choice would be polyurethane, usually made for medical bandaids for the allergic folks... But yeah you should definitely double check.
@Fizzypopization it actually generates less carbon emissions than a glass bottle, as glass requires more energy during raw material processing, manufacturing and transportation
Just an advise I think your videos are really good and I like that your advising people on sustainability as it’s very important but I was scrolling through your videos and there’s something that’s it’s not clicking, I would leave you some suggestions just because I think it’s an important topic and I would like for your Chanel to grow more Maybe focus more on the video and not yourself, so like when people do the voice over and use some animations in the middle those videos I find really interesting and people take a lot of attention when they are not being distracted by multiple things as with a one minute video the attention has to go to the essence of the video and think a shorter introduction so you don’t have to repeat yourself all the time, I hope this helps 😊
ok but you're wasting way less by rinsing out a bottle vs throwing out a bag. even if the bag is compostable or recyclable, there's a 99% chance it's just getting thrown out and all the water and resources used to produce it are wasted. vs using a little soap and water and maybe wasting a tiny amount of product.
It is a scam. It's so they can sell less product and pretend it's more. There will still be some left as it will be impossible to get all of it out. This is true for ANY container. It's also more sustainable as just a glass bottle adding plastic makes it less sustainable.
This mf's face gives me hydraulic press vibes for some reason ☠️☠️ Something about the muscles squeezing all that filler. I feel like it's just gonna squirt out an any moment lmao

The egg is so cute 😅😅😅
Lol isn't it!? 😂

That is fascinating!!! Need to do a deep dive on this now 👀 love to see where there can be cross-industry inspiration!
Ooooh I wish we had it on a clear version, it's SO CUTE
Aww I doodled this concept in design school ages ago.. I should have pursued it
No way!?!?!😮
@@allisonturquoise yea.. my design was for a soap dispenser
@@ItsaRandomistayes!! They make soap like that actually! For sure those automatic store bathroom type despensers.
Great minds think alike
I used to think about the tile design when I was little because I always lost stuff. People makin millions off our ideas lol. We should’ve pursued it

"Serm" 😂
😂😂
They should also sell just the egg part and top as a replacement/refill so you can reuse the glass bottle over and over. Very ingenious idea!
i thought this too but then i realized that consumers don’t really have a way of getting the bag inside the glass bottle if it’s filled with product 🧍🏼♀️ at least not a way i can think of

Woah this is genius packaging!
Greenwashing - reusing the bottle is better than recycling
Serm
Closer to more sustainable and useful packaging! Also just the concept of showing someone the bottle “There’s an egg in there”
Hii do you know you look like the actress from that grey movie? You're really pretty 💕
Dakota Johnson??🤔 lol awe thank you, I'm flattered 💖💖💖💖

@@ER-sj4vk if it didn't work they wouldn't do it. It works because our perception isn't perfect. You would have to look at the bottle to know.

I love the oil la la from Krave!
I noticed that Sunday Riley's Good Genes uses this "egg" too.
So cool!!! Effective and adorable.
Any recommendations on where to recycle cosmetic packaging in the UK ?
How do you feel about the nars matte foundation that leaks everywhere??? 😢
A brand that ACTUALLY cares
Out of curiosity- what degree (if any) did you get for your career? Or what jobs led you to where you work?

"why the heck is there an egg in this SERM bottle?" 😭
What kind of experience do you need to work in packaging design?
Ohhh yeah that little plastic baggie thingy in there is definitely better they definitely don't just wanna make it look like there's way more product then there really is
Tbh i never recycle regular bottles i just use them for something else.
Why do they bother with this type of stuff? When an airless pump seems to be the perfect solution
"Sadly" 🤣
Now we only need to get governments to make proper recycling programms...
Girl I love your videos and love learning about this stuff but you need to fix your mic it’s very off putting

Isn’t the bag more waste tho?
yall rinsing the bottle ?

Do manufacturers say what they're made of it?
I'm allergic to latex and that visual triggered my flight reflex 😂

I'd reuse the packaging for toiletries than Buy toiletries specific bottles 😅😅
So glad I didn’t get this because I’m allergic to eggs
It also gives you an illusion of getting more product than you actually are!
I’m just here for the serm comments. 🤣
But if you dont want a bottle because ther is product at bottom so you make a bottle with a tube in it why dont you just make a Tube ? right 😭
You sound like elastigirl!
That's hilarious 😂
sorry but are people actually dumb enough to think it's a real egg, or are they just clickbaiting?
It's still more wasteful than a glass bottle.

That’s actually smart! But.. How does the excess in the egg all get taken out?? Idk, I’m just sceptical if they’re tryna scam o.o
It doesn't

It's also very likely that little bag is made out of plastic.
you always talk about sustainability like i care
