    Doing it like this is genius. When me and a friend did my porch we did it on the outside. What a mistake! This makes SO much more sense!

    Excellent video Tyler! Details are king! Nowhere except your video shows how to cut the cover cap with a chop. Best I caught was a mention to use a piece of wood aside which for some reason I could not visualize. Your video had the missing link and it was a pure ahaa moment. Currently installing the kit and about to head out to add the covers afraid to shatter the stock.

    We did the same idea for a knee wall but used translucent polycarbonate panels and added LED lights between the panels the whole length and width of our 24'x 10' deck. The whole wall lights up on both inside and outside with the lights on. Thanks for the idea it worked great. wish i could post a pic.

    AWESOME! Not sure how this tutorial showed up at this time, but coincidentally my wife and I have been talking about a screened in porch for a while. Great to know I've got a place to go for starters! Thanks so much!

    I'm beyond repairing screens as here in Greece where I live everything is done in aluminum and is relatively cheap but this was an easy to understand and informative video!
    BTW, I love your shop buddy!!!

    Perfect timing. I need to build two sliding screens doors for my shop one 12x12 foot and one 10x10foot. Thinking will need a divider on them. Will put them on a trolley system and thinking how I will fill the void to keep skeeters out

    Pro tip: PVC pipe cutters will go through the trim stuff like butter. Good for working in the field without having to lug around a saw.

    Why not use a washer head screw for attaching those black plastic tracks to the frame? It would have less risk of it blowing through when driving the screws or tearing through over time. I like to use GRK’s cabinet screws 👌

    • @dougprentice1363
      @dougprentice1363 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      David, I'm getting ready to install upper cabinets. What type of screw do you use for fastening face frame of cabinets? I've seen people use drywall screws. That doesn't seem right. I bought Grk #8 trim screws. The thread seems too course for hard word face frames.

    • @davidgulbransen6801
      @davidgulbransen6801 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@dougprentice1363 I haven’t made any cabinets with hardwood face frames, so I wouldn’t have a very relevant opinion…I do know for hardwoods, in general, people tend to like finer threads, predrilling, or a combination of the two.

      Lowes carries Lath screws made by Teks that are perfect for projects like this. Ive used them for vinyl J channel where you dont want the plastic to pucker up like it did when he put that wood screw at the end of the screen channel.
