Thanks for this. I bought one of these a few years ago and have never used it. I came to TH-cam for instruction and found your video. I wouldn’t have known about the water discharge straw if I hadn’t seen your video. 🙏

This thing is retail at $600 after tax right now for a plastic case with a simple motor probably worth $30. What a crazy world we live in.

It was probably half of that when I bought mine. I think I may have paid $250 about 12 years ago...

@@foodparadise5792 Are you looking at using this to sharpen a knife? I didnt even think about that as a possibility.

Dude.. wtf happened to your thumb nail 👍? Did you cut that thing off at one time?

I cut my thumb off with a geared hand drill. Lol
Not my proudest moment, but as ugly as it is now it far exceededs what I expected. Pretty much no loss of function, except ugly as all hell.
      Cheers

Your missing the foam sponge doughnut, stops the splashing.

@@JeremiahL Some other Japanese brand like Shinko or hikoki implement the sponge design. You can look them up on ebay. I think the sponge design probably better because when you put the tool on, the sponge goes down on the tool area while the rest still up to stop the splash. You can slightly modify and put on sponge for the makita too.
