Just stay away from windows, make sure you don’t have things that could cause damage loose in your yard, cover your pool if you have one, and pull over to the side of the road if you are driving (loss of visibility). Going outside is obviously a bad idea, but if you have to at least wear a face mask or a wet cloth over your mouth and nose. Obviously there are exceptions (the Dust Bowl) but for the most part just follow these rules and you’ll be fine. Sincerely, a Sonoran Desert resident.

Cute but definitely dramatised. Sand storms don’t cause damage like this. 90% of the time they just cause low visibility, create an orange sky and dirty your cars. We had a major one in Australia in 2009 and it certainly wasn’t anything like this. Hard to take the video seriously haha
