Sergio "Checo" Perez has pointed out that criticism against him is intensifying due to the presence of Max Verstappen as his Red Bull teammate. Despite recent challenges and difficulties, Perez remains determined to improve his performance and return to second place in the Drivers' Championship at the upcoming Austrian Grand Prix.
Speaking prior to the start of the Grand Prix at the Red Bull Ring, Perez acknowledged the high level of performance of Verstappen, who has managed to win several races and maintain a constant presence on the podium, something that the Mexican has not been able to replicate in recent weeks. This disparity has led to a greater amount of criticism of Perez.
"I think Max is at a very high level at the moment, he's delivering, he's driving at his best level and he's in the best shape than the others," Perez said. "Definitely if you had a different teammate things would be different, but it's a big challenge."
Perez praised Verstappen for his outstanding performance and stressed that having the Dutch driver as a teammate increases the pressure and expectations. However, Perez is determined to face this challenge and improve his performance in the upcoming races, starting with the Austrian Grand Prix.
