Though it does show that the iPhone can shoot HLG (HDR) that comes straight out of the phone not really needing much color whereas the HLG shot by the Pocket 3 is much flatter and more focused on giving editors some room for color correction.

Honestly… looks like you recorded the second one on different res or just didn’t color grade it. Looks so washed off. Even if it was shot on OSMO, colors straight out the camera wouldn’t be like this.

Probably should’ve color corrected it though (usually 50% of the time it need some color correction when shooting with my drone) but I kinda forgot cause the iPhone came out looking so good also shot in HLG. Personally I like the look of the OP3 footage better cause it could be graded much more where the iPhone’s is already quite processed.

But it could be great choice if you understand differences and know what you need. Phone (premium): waterproof, all in device, good quality video (better then actions cameras but not that good as pocket 3), very big screen, you can choose camera app which you want. Premium phones have optical zoom (IP 13 pro 3x, IP 13 Pro Max 5x), good stabilization but it is digital. Pocket 3: very good stabilization by mechanical gimbal - but also you need care about it a little bit more then phone, very good image quality, object tracking, very good quality when filming yourself (vloging) because you use the same sensor and in phone you use front camera which is always much worst then back camera, it is not water proof, you can put it somewhere and control it by phone. actions cams: in this comparision actions cams have the worst image quality but it not mean that is bad! You will see difference only in bad light, action cams are whaterproof, You do not need care to much on them, replaceable batteries, small, digital stabilization is good in good light but bad in low light.
if you did hold the OP3 like you showed it, you couldn't film in 4k... you need to hold it horizontal to get full 4k. And rotate the footage in post :)
