Lucic, feared only by the significantly smaller players that are actually at risk of having to fight him. Everyone 215-220+ is pretty much safe. I would be afraid of him hitting you from behind, possibly in the nuts, though.

Scott Stevens, Bob Probert and Tie Domi definitely disliked this. Stevens would freight train everyone in the league right now not named Chara, he was a scary dude. And Probert and Domi could smash all the other guys you mentioned by themselves and still fight each other afterwards.

Daine Hester players are usually Smart when it comes to fighting someone. Chara, unless really pissed, wouldn’t fight Reaves. 25-26 Avg minutes ice time vs. 5 or 6.

Reaves is tough, but not very fearing. He doesn't check when people have their heads down like Buff does. Nor is he the same physical stature or size as Buff. Reaves agitates players because he has no skill in the game itself. Buff can hit, shoot, play D, play Offense, pass. He's much more well rounded, making him more fearful from a player vs player perspective in my opinion.
Patrick Maroon should probably be on that list somewhere and Lucic should be at #1. Byfuglien and Lucic both hit extremely hard and are big boys but in fighting ability Lucic is way more intimidating and feared than Byfuglien.

My 7 in no particular order. Lucic, Reaves, Chris Neil, Jared Boll, Deryk Engelland, Micheal Haley, Luke Gazdic. Those are like the only tough guys still left.
Average Height/Weight of NHL players: 1923 - 5'9" and 169 lbs 2014 - 6'1" (+6%) and 205 lbs (+21%). Then add speed, strength and conditioning, equipment, diet, lifestyle, etc ... and I think that current players are statistically far more punishing than their predecessors. Toughness, is another story as it relies upon a player's mental abilities.
No disrespect to any of those guys...All legends, but I gotta say Ryan Reaves, and Goerge Laraque (sorry if I mispelled it) would have something to say about this list. Good job though. Loved it.

Because you have guys in this list that are known for one thing or another but I wouldn't exactly use the word "feared" (For example, Shea Weber is known for his shooting power, and Radko Gudas is known for his heavy hitting ability -- both have different strengths and IMO wouldn't belong on the same list together). If you're referring to fighting, you could have added players like Tom Sestito, Jared Boll, Ryan Reeves, Nick Deslauriers, Cody McLeod, Chris Throburn, Deryk Engelland, Michael Haley, Andy Andreoff, Mark Borowiecki etc..... If you are referring to heavy hitters you could have added Alexander Ovechkin, Tom Sestito (also), Mark Borowiecki (also), Alexei Emelin, Tom Wilson etc.... (this is where a player like Gudas and maybe Chara would go). If you are referring to a combination of toughness, fighting and physical players then that's where you would put Wayne Simmonds, Milan Lucic, Chara and then add someone like Jarome Iginla, Adam McQuaid, etc.... It’s still Chara. He can fight as well as anyone but when you combine that with his size it’s almost impossible to beat him in a fight. Not only that but when he gets pissed off, I mean really pissed off, he’s basically unstoppable. Thankfully for the rest of the league that doesn’t happen too often but when it does just get out of his way. I’d much rather have to fight Reaves or Wilson or someone like that then have to go toe-to-toe with Chara
Chara no longer belongs on this list. He was truly a freak of nature as an athlete that a person with a frame that massive could last that many years in the modern NHL.
Byfuglin would definitely ruin your day. But so would a couple players on the Penguins, especially Hornqvist and Kunitz. But even Oshie would agree that Buff could easily take you out, he's been hit by him quite a few times. And we can't forget my least favorite player on the Senators, Dion Phaneuf. He can definitely make you hurt later.

If you're referring to fighting, you could have added players like Tom Sestito, Jared Boll, Ryan Reeves, Nick Deslauriers, Cody McLeod, Chris Throburn, Deryk Engelland, Michael Haley, Andy Andreoff, Mark Borowiecki etc.....
If you are referring to heavy hitters you could have added Alexander Ovechkin, Tom Sestito (also), Mark Borowiecki (also), Alexei Emelin, Tom Wilson etc.... (this is where a player like Gudas and maybe Chara would go).
If you are referring to a combination of toughness, fighting and physical players then that's where you would put Wayne Simmonds, Milan Lucic, Chara and then add someone like Jarome Iginla, Adam McQuaid, etc....

It’s still Chara. He can fight as well as anyone but when you combine that with his size it’s almost impossible to beat him in a fight. Not only that but when he gets pissed off, I mean really pissed off, he’s basically unstoppable. Thankfully for the rest of the league that doesn’t happen too often but when it does just get out of his way. I’d much rather have to fight Reaves or Wilson or someone like that then have to go toe-to-toe with Chara

Umm im so confused by this list. This list should have been called the most feared skilled players in hockey lol. I dont think alot of players necessarily fear half of your list. And only like 2 out of the 7 will actually fight anyone. Wayne Simmons should not be on this list. And reaves has been one the most feared men in hockey for some time now.
Reaves in this era, there are no real heavyweights anymore, McGratten, Booguard, Laraque etc etc would have eaten Reaves for lunch
