Thanks Daph. It had a mini comeback when Who Wants To Be A Millionaire came out on the PS1 and outsold everything else, but the end of the Anglocentric TV show videogame adaption is a sad thing indeed
@ i had the same idea a while back but modern games ish and managed to find a few ps3 games that where tv based like lost and prison break but its not in the same league as old old British tv shows games like these speccy games
I will try to watch the full video sometime between now and Christmas because busy days are ahead, unfortunately. I may have told you before that in the late 1990s, I bought 99% of my video games from an importer whose shop was located on the street where Bob Monkhouse was born and raised (Bromley Road, Beckenham). He went to college in my mum's hometown of Dulwich in South East London. I remember being told that he got expelled from Dulwich College for climbing up the clock tower, LOL. Half a mile down the road from Beckenham is a book shop called Waterstones in Bromley town centre. It must've been around 20 years ago when I went there late one Saturday afternoon to look at the books and saw Bruce Forsyth signing copies of his biography. I couldn't believe it.
Bob seems like the sort of guy who would have done something like that for a laugh. I met Bruce very briefly when I was doing some training at White City for the BBC. He was doing a stint running with the Olympic torch in 2012. He was very charismatic!
@@jaethemanchild I miss going to BBC Television Centre for TV recordings. I think the last one I went to was the Pointless Children In Need special in 2012. I was also there on its last day of operation, in March 2013, to attend a recording of a new gameshow pilot called "Who's Asking?", but I didn't get in, despite queuing in the snow for several hours. They'd mistakenly given out too many priority tickets, so most people who queued up with regular tickets were turned away when the doors opened, including people in wheelchairs. But while I was there, I took some photos of Television Centre, plus the last queue of people and sent the photos to Sir David Attenborough five years later. One of the last things Bruce Forsyth did to my knowledge was the Morrison's Christmas TV ad (circa 2016). It was filmed at the Christmas market in Kingston upon Thames (where I used to do my Christmas shopping).
My favourite joke I ever heard him do was on Blankety Blank iirc. As a 'who chooses first' lead in. "True or False.. Explorers have discovered a previously unknown tribe deep in the African jungle. That consisted of all tall blonde haired tribes people..?" (The contestant answered True and was correct..) "That is TRUE! They discovered the tribe last year... Along with a smiling missionary, named Sven!"
I really enjoyed your British TV show/video game reviews. I love to hear about 80s British culture as I grew up on Benny Hill. I also used to watch a ton of Card Sharks. I figured the US version was ripped off from the British version as a lot of American TV was like that in the 70s and 80s. But it sounds like the opposite was true.
I remember owning a darts game for the ZX Spectrum in the mid-1980s. I can't remember the name of it, but I think it was developed by Codemasters and I kind of got hooked on it for a while. I don't think I ever owned the Bullseye computer game, but I've got the Bullseye DVD games in my collection. I heard a rumour a few weeks ago that it might be coming back to our TV screens (in a new format) soon.
@@jaethemanchild That's the one. I looked it up and saw the cover art. It was made by Mastertronic, not Codemasters, but I was close. I often confuse the two because they both developed the games I used to buy from my local newsagents. I was going to mention Freddie Flintoff in my other post about BBC Television Centre and Bruce Forsyth because he co-starred in the Morrison's Christmas TV ad that I mentioned.
My mum loved Brucie. Older sister couldn't stand him. Didn't bother me either way. Yeah he did the 1970's thing of marrying a much younger woman. But when you're already prehistoric yourself, much younger can actually mean 30. And to be fair to the old slaphead, he was still married to her when he passed away nearing age 90.
No one admits to watching Blue Peter? Dude.. I spent my late teens and early 20's thrashing myself to a standstill whilst ogling Janet Ellis on that show twice a week. What a woman!
Completely Off Topic, But TH-cams Ad personalisation is SHITE... I have had nothing but Scam Bloody Adverts for Months... Tune into this video and during the "Question Of Sport" - I get an advert for MONSTER TRUCK HOT WHEELS from Smyths... And you know, I dont mid Toy Adverts as I am watching this channel so of course that's my jam... BUT ITS A HALLOWEEN ADVERT AT CHRSITMAS!!! And Worse, Its a F**KING AWESOME ADVERT! The Soundtrack F**KING ROCKS!!!! Why do they not play me more adverts like that and not the "How to make money with AI on Audible" Scam Bullshit!
Was it a really 90 Halloween Monster Truck advert? That sounds great. I keep seeing adverts for mobile phone games that look awesome, but then I’m told when you download them it’s basically Candi Crush. It’s the weirdest flex.
@@jaethemanchild It was, That soundtrack BLOODY ROCKED! I have NEVER sat here and not clicked Skip before.. but that was GOLD! Reminded me of Fall out boy!!! When Fall out boy used to be good... (OUCH!)
A question of sport was cancelled after 50 years by hiring talentless northern stereotype Paddy McGuiness who drove ratings further into the ground. Paddy went on to present/cancel another long running BBC show Top Gear
Excellent video. I enjoyed that!
Thank you!
I miss when they did games of tv shows like this ……cool vid

I think out of all of those that I played, the Treasure Hunt game was my favourite
Treasure Hunt is pretty good (for what it is)

That’s gold! I love his one about his dad being a bus driver who died peacefully in his sleep, unlike his passengers.

Thank you! I think that we’re pretty even stevens with the cultural exchanges. Most British quiz shows either come from the States or Europe.
@@jaethemanchild True. I didn't watch trivia shows so you are right. I was a Price is Right kinda guy which may make me a mini-game enjoyer. lol

180! Probably the best darts game ever. It is coming back, yeah. Freddie Flintoff is in the Jim Bowen role.

I also rushed home for knightmare , just the best thing ever and would be genuinely saddened at its end each week , priceless tv.
Same. The one show on kids tv that I refused to miss.
Though Madely is unarguably the closest to a real Alan partridge, Nick Owen has The Look!
Nick Owen definitely had a Partridge fashion sense
Nice to see you to see you.... Good game good game... Bruce forsyth king of rap sorry i meant to put a c

'Paddy mcguiness is coming to town, with his joke'
It wasnt his fault, it was the producers who chose him.
@@Dim4323 this is true. Take Me Out worked for his style well enough, it’s just that it doesn’t always translate to other avenues.
