Id done the sane thing. You show her often getting her way but as a society we all need to learn patience and when its our time to do what we want. If not we become a me now person and that just isn't a great way to be. Cheers
Oh my Goodness Val, This post tugged at your heart with understanding totally of how you feel. I hope this day your sunshine spirit is back. I feel your heart and soul and wished I lived closer to be your friend. That is how I feel about your precious family. I can totally relate. Anyway, Big Hugs and Sunshine thoughts going your way. Hope you are feeling much better. XOXO 😍
You guys rock! I love the gentle way you respond to Jess’ needs and how you all work together to help one another. Thank you for sharing your life with us. My husband suffered a devastating brain injury 10 yrs ago which left him with multiple and profound disabilities, so I care for him 24/7. Your thoughtful ways with Jess spark new ideas for me in how I can help my husband with things that challenge him. God bless you guys. Loving your channel.
It's such a bummer when we're excited about an event but then anxiety takes over. I've certainly been there. I hope Jess knows that it's not only okay to take some time to rest and take care of your mental health but it's sometimes the most mature, healthy and responsible decision to make. It's a good thing to take care of yourself. I have to remind myself of that sometimes. :)
I've been thinking about "tapping", it is actually a highly effective tool people can learn to improve quality of life physically and emotionally. I used to do it with my students (Deaf and multiply involved), it follows acupuncture and acupressure points on the body. What we professionals called "Self stimulation" became an effective healing tool for my students. There are oodles of "Tapping" techniques sites on the computer - well worth investigating! I'm wondering if showing Jessica how tapping can be used in a soothing, calming way actually helps her body physically! Demonstrating some important tapping points so she can consciously try some additional tapping points on her own. Tapping can stimulate the body for relieving pain, calming , healing etc. (Just like acupuncture!). This is a new frontier utilizing Jessica's natural instinct to help her body in a more directed, empowering way. 🎉
How cool would family tapping practice be so anytime there is headache or body ache a person could try tapping as a part of pain relief!! It makes me smile to think about Jessica suggesting "tapping" to family members needing relief! Now wouldn't that be a twist!!
That was a fun video with a lot of decorations. Too bad Jess got so upset and had to go home. Hope you all have a blessed evening. Hannah, the potato salad looks delicious with all the othe food. Glad you all got together with family and Jess was feeling better. 💖
Oh Jess, I get stressed just like that! It can be overwhelming when things just aren’t the way you were hoping they’d be at the store. Sometimes we can get through it, sometimes we just have to say “I’ll try again another day” 😊❤
Did Jess have a meltdown as in she was being loud & crying or was it she was being obsessive & talking about wanting coloring books? What action of hers led to your taking her to the car & leaving the store for home?
She was just so focused on wanting a coloring book and became stressed. I hate that she didn’t get to finish the outing with you guys. You know what is best for Jess to calm her anxiety. Big hugs to you all.
Really enjoyed watching. Many times we had to take my grandson home, but he knew he needed a place to relax, ND it usually turns out great. Thanks for showing us this, it shows another part we go through as caretakers ❤️
Did Val just say she was going to have to clean all the cards up? Jess makes a mess and Val cleans it up. Wow. I’m glad Val and Hannah got to finish their shopping. I love the mother daughter bond they have.
We all get stressed and handle it differently. When I’m stressed, I just want to be alone and quiet. Jess, I’m glad you worked through it and had a great ending to the day!
I have that, looking forward to something. and in the middle of it I shutdown. And I get easily grumpy. I feel bad after, and I am trying to work on it.
What made today’s video so special was that you shared what your routine/day is like when you aren’t videoing. I like how you introduced what the video was going to be about, how it progressed with what you were doing, how ‘event’s developed’ and you had to change your course. I also liked how you then had your day of baking/cooking and ended the day at your parent’s’ house. What a productive and lovely day it was!
Some moments are better than others. So glad Jess felt better after she was able to relax. Certain stores will give me anxiety; although for different reasons than Jess. My daughter loves to shop at Goodwill and certain large consignment type stores. I can’t do it. For some reason I can’t shop where there’s too much crammed into small spaces.
My sister took me grocery shopping today when she got off work. We went to Walmart so I could get some vegan food for my apartment. I had sticky rice with peas and carrots for dinner. I also had a Cherry Dr. Pepper 0. I'm glad I bought more diet soda because I was out.
It's okay, Jessica. We all have days like that. Sometimes things just get stressful and overwhelming, but I'm happy to see you bounced back and was still able to have a great day🥰
Kinda crazy question but what was attached to the 🛒 when you’ll was shopping for the dollar tree or store not sure which one it was. Looked like a long pole attached to the cart we don’t have anything like that around here.
Apple Cider Cake 3 cups Flour 2 tsp Cinnamon 1/4 Nutmeg 1 & 1/2 tbsp baking powder 1 tsp salt 1 & 1/2 cups sugar 1/2 cup brown sugar 1 cup oil 3 eggs 1 cup apple sauce 1 tsp vanilla 1 cup apple cider Topping: 1/4 cup sugar 2 tsp cinnamon 1/4 cup butter, melted Preheat oven to 325. Grease and flour Bundt pan and set aside. Whisk together flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, baking powder, and salt until combined. Set aside. In a separate bowl, blend sugars and oil on medium. In this same bowl, add eggs, then mix on medium for 2 minutes. Then, add apple sauce and vanilla, and blend with mixer until combined. Add in 1 cup of the flour mixture and 1/2 cup of the cider. Mix on low until combined. Repeat with 1 cup flour and remaining cider. Add the last of the flour and mix until combined. Batter will be slightly runny. Pour into pan and bake 50 minutes. Let cool in pan for 1 hour before removing cake from pan. Mix together cinnamon and sugar. Brush butter over cake, then press on cinnamon sugar mixture.
“ why did I get so stressed?” This is a question I ask myself, mainly because I beat myself up for feeling stressed. I usually beat myself up for feeling emotions, I’m working on not doing this though. I’ve told myself that what I feel, and how I feel isn’t important, it’s not valid, that I’m not allowed to feel that way, That it’s not real and that it’s all in my head. But maybe, maybe that’s just not the way to go?
Awe, sweet ending.. Did we hear Jessica ask where was that freaking game being played at? Bwaahahaha, I had to laugh too. Is that Jessica's very own bedroom at Nonnie and Granddads??? If it is, does she ever stay the night or weekend with them? Ohhh, one more thing, Hannah, how was your potato salad? When I make mine I usually mix all my wet ingredients in a separate bowl then fold the mixture into my potatoes. Only because if I don't, it comes out like mashed potatoes that taste like potato salad. However, I probably overcook my potatoes to start with. Who knows, just a suggestion. Another great video ladies!!!
Hey ladies,i wish i liked to do crafting,my sister was the crafty one lol.i was wondering why couldnt hanaha take jess out to the and give her anxiety medicine and then she could have spent the rest of the day with you guys. I know that sometimes my daughter does the same thing, that way there we can continue with r day.
Genuinely curious: could Hannah have instead taken Jessica to the coloring book aisle straightaway / early on, versus outside to the car or all the way back home, thereby allowing Jessica to browse, and then y’all could’ve reconvened on another aisle together to finish decoration shopping and other browsing?
Jessica was running errands with them; she was a full participant in the day. That’s why I asked if she was able to browse for items she wanted as well (the coloring books). It would stress me out, too, if I couldn’t walk three aisles over to look around for ten minutes. So I was genuinely curious if she was able to and was still stressed, or if the coloring book aisle was avoided. I don’t know. I’ve been thinking about this too much and can see why Jessica would be stressed.
These speed bumps happen to all of us. It sounded like you gals were on such a tight schedule that there wasn't enough time for the coloring book session. I'm sure Jessica will get better and better at understanding that agendas are just as important to others as they are to her. I was so happy when Hannah shared that Jess actually wanted to know WHY she had such anxiety over not being able to read coloring books at that particular time. So proud of her for realizing it was an issue. I had to edit my comment because all 3 of you deserve an applause!!!!
I’m sorry … but what’s up with the “do it again! Do it again…” like Jessica is not a kid … you wouldn’t even encourage a kid to do it again and why talk to a grown woman like she is a child with the raised tones ? Not tryna be mean but it is quite a turnoff
