    The one and only reason this guy is picking on you is------- ---------------------, your the best of the best. I have watched several other luthiers videos and if they were fixing braces or neck resets they would think they have accomplished something. If they have cracks that are giving them problems they replace the whole piece thats broke. You my friend are a master troubleshooter, accoustic engineer, and master luthier all wrapped up in one brilliant package.

    Hi Jerry, I couldn't see or didn't hear if you removed the black access cover in the bout near the end pin. It might give you a little more room to work and see the inside better. Your thought about the brace maybe floating above the bridge plate may be correct. In any case when you finally bring this back to life you will know that you have really done something special. In the end, making it sing or in this case have its deep bass voice heard again, there should be joy and that's what it is really all about. We old phonies from AT&T need to stick together so I hope all goes well. I'd wish you luck but this kind of work takes skill and common sense. My Dupy fingers caught up to me so I can't do much repair anymore. Ralph in Appleton, WI.

    Jerry, I would consider it a huge compliment. That is clearly an expensive guitar, and the owner has got his money back. Therefore he is in a position to pay to take it anywhere to get the rebuild done. The fact that he has given you 1St crack at it tells you something!

    Looking forward to the new format! Man, that mess you got stuck with though. I can't believe you took that thing. You must have more compassion than common sense, and I say that with all due respect, because I tend to find myself in those situations as well. If anyone can fix her up, it's you, but man you took a big bite this time. lol

  • @davefoster6156
    @davefoster6156 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I have two dumb suggestions. First, drill a tiny hole and use a small screw to pull the brace into line, then deal with the tiny hole later. Two, a welders brace that uses a vice grip handle might be long enough to get in there and hold it fast. They make them in long lengths just for this type of hold, and they aren't cheap, but they are not terribly expensive either. This thing looks almost as bad as Chocolate did! Hope you have all the parts.

    Hi Jerry,
    From what I've heard from others with hand problems, the C.B.D gummy bears are meant to help realy well for all types of pain and inflammation anywhere on the body . .so you can Google..C.B.D Gummy Bears..and you should be able to check them out for yourself. My mother in law is 70 and uses them and says they really help her very overworked hands..hop this may be an option for yourself..

    Jerry take care of your hands. My father an myself had Arthritis come and his hands stopped him an I could remember him in tears. Now its my turn spinal hand both knees and God is it painful. It hurts to right an it looks like 3rd grader hand writing. Talk about how instruments are made, I rather learn that at my age of 62. Do your best but save your hands. Play so the songs where you got to together with the band and inform us of how you all played together. I can think of many ways of how you can make short vides. God Bless you jerry.

    Maybe it would’ve been better to remove the brace and start over - the ends being fixed might keeping it from going flat in the middle. If it still wouldn’t conform, you could trim the ends of brace to fit and then reglue it.
