In this video I tackle the question "Can you clean a skull in a tree?". I didn't think this would be a very effective skull cleaning method but as you will see it turned out better than I expected!

Found your channel because I was the recipient of an entire freezer burnt pig head as a dirty santa gift and not wanting to waste it I started looking into doing a skull mount out of it and bringing it for my gift next year. 😁

I think, in my extremely dry climate, smaller things can mummify before anything else happens. I haven't had the opportunity to try this with a large, fresh skull, though

Haha so I think in total it was in the tree for about 5 months

Caution when using this technique...if you have squirrels on your property, they will chew the antlers! :/

I've been curious about this method. But I live in the high desert, so I don't think it'd work well here, lol. Anything above ground tends to mummify quicker than I expect.

I use 3% hydrogen peroxide. For larger skulls you can mix with water

Hahahahaha I've had customer say the same thing or they put it on an ant hill for years and then end up bringing to me modified. I'm also in South Dakota and it's really dry here so that method does not work very well here
