I got him a few days ago. Great guide, your tile indicators really helped, as well as tagging the axes! Did not need to manipulate the visual metronome, was just too much to think about.. I just dodged the axes, prioritized a defensive mindset and making sure I clicked as accurately as possible. With all this, and doing normal Vardorvis over 200 times before, as well as looking at multiple example fights: I got him *first try.* By far my greatest RuneScape achievement!! :D
this guide was so good its hard to believe you made that inferno for dummies guide talking about flinching and running between pillars to solve stacks hahahaha
Man it’s rough. I’m like 50 orbs deep, and I’m losing confidence. Only made it to sub 50% twice. The prayer switching timing is so strange to me and throws me off my groove
Heyy, amazing guide, probably one of the best guides out there in terms of depth, I was expecting it to get more attention! You can tell how much effort you put into it, to find all the cycle timings, and a way to deal with them. A question, is there a "constant safe tiles" on tendrils dash attack? Like near the pillar? Also, what do you use the yellow marked tiles for?
There aren’t exactly constant safe tiles; however, I just found that constantly moving backwards and forwards in the axe dodging cycle kept out of sync with the tendrils so I never really worried about these at all, maybe the odd one. Yellow marked tiles are just for a different colour, my click accuracy is terrible sometimes so it was just to make it a bit clearer which tile I was aiming at and on
I’m having a bit of trouble with when to to reset the tick timer you, said when the axe get to corner reset which I do but in this video your ticks starts at 1 every time while mine starts at 0. Is there another way to reset the tick like maybe reset when the axes spawn? I’m getting too caught up in guessing when the axes are going to hit the corner to reset and then when it’s not even the right tick it doesn’t help.
You can do it when the axes spawn aswell yeah, I just preferred to when the axes hit the edge. The ticks you move on might be different though based on your reset issue so just play it by ear. If it ends up being too much hassle I wouldn’t bother with it, it’s just to help you keep in a rhythm
What I don't understand - if you're resetting the tick counter as an axe reaches the end because it randomly changes and tendrils screw it up - doesn't that mean semi often you'll have to do it with the tick counter off sync? And it seems like doing it with the tick counter of sync will be harder than no tick counter? Plus it requires an additional timed action to reset it
@@brianevans4975 yeah this will work fine. In my head, if I dodged at 3, I know I still haven’t dodged the 2nd axe at 7, it’s just a small reminder to help make sure I don’t forget. As for when to reset the cycle, you can reset it at as soon as they spawn and just move on different numbered ticks. I just found resetting it as soon as it ended more predictable and repeatable. Just do whatever works best for you
Makes sense as far as resetting on spawn! I ended up getting the kill with a 4 tick counter. Definitely makes you have to think a little less before things get hectic. @@nairyhipples

Hey, just realised I didn’t reply to this! Red eye jedis guide should do the trick. Use scythe with bfury, don’t stress over dodging black orbs, and it’s not the end of the world to tank a few poison hits, just avoid taking the magic hits at all cost
I have the cycle down but he does his little nex-like skating around all the time and drags you to different places... Really annoying. Are you supposed to only click the boss then click ground every attack? So you don't get dragged? I don't get it.
@@hawkman8706 you shouldn’t have to do what you’re suggesting. Are you using a 4 or 5t weapon? I only found it being an issue when I was using a 5t wep.
@@nairyhipples I'm doing the blade method like you, if you're attacking on the first tick back to your square, he can definitely do his little root and skate attack and drag you away from the 2 safe squares, so I've been trying to always attack the tick before I move so that doesn't happen. however another thing I ran into is that he occasionally does the roots attack 1 tick earlier than normal, so roots spawn under my feet the same tick or around the same tick that the axes spawn, so I have to choose to take one or the other. the roots are less damage so I've just been standing still and still dodging the axes, but what's the deal with that?
Enable prayer reordering in the "prayer" Runelite plugin and left click the prayer tab to set it up. I'd suggest you keep smite tho. You'll need it for Muspah. Can get rid of other ones
It acts as a manual reset for the tick counter above your head which you need for two reasons: 1) After getting strangled/captcha you’ll move out of the axe cycle. 2) The axes (essentially) have a random but very very small chance to move out of cycle by 1 tick. I’m not sure whether this is due to server lag or some other hidden mechanic. For either of these, if you want to know which tick the axes are moving on, you’ll need to hit a reset key to reset the cycle timer on your head. It doesn’t have to be escape, it can be anything you want.
Appreciate the guide but I fundamentally disagree with your idea of using a cycle timer. The axes are already super easy to skip, with audio sounds you click the corner when you hear it start to rev up like an engine and you click back when the other axe is 1 tile away. Having to keep your eyes on the visual metronome and also constantly reset it just adds additional complexity without actually making the fight easier. Also vard is a fight where regardless you won't be attacking every tick due to hit dash mechanics, etc. So fang will always be better than saeldor.
Thanks for the guide bro, a really high quality one. Deep and thorough. Checks all the boxes for an A+ guide.
honestly one of the best guides i have ever seen massive props! gunna like and share to friends.

Hey question, whats the plug in or how did you filter your prayers which did include taking redemption and smite and all that off.
Yeah this guide is bonkers
Huge vid now that fang has been neutered at vardovis. No one is fcking touching awakened vardovis with an axe lol
I completed it in like 20 attempts with a fang watching this now wonder how long it would have taken with a salad blade lol
Still did it in a good number of attempts, I know I wish I did it in 20
would echo boots be good here to recoil the chip damage or stick with prims?
@@Dr_Naqi afaik they are immune from recoil damage? But boots may be different… and I also may be wrong.
What is the plugin that has that line moving across your prayer orb? Is that for ticks or is that showing drain/recharge or prayer?
It is under the Prayer plugin. For "Prayer flick location", either have it set to orb or both.
