  • This 2014 GM truck had incorrect temperature output on the driver's side. sometimes too warm and other times too cold. HVAC controls reported code B0413. Problem was left blend door actuator. It can be accessed via the glove box after removal of the HMI module, bracket and Auxiliary BCM.

    Thank you, I'm getting the same code on my 2007 new body. I was guessing, this is what it was.
    Add this to my project list now.

    I just repaired my A/C automatic blend motor assembly by disassembling the unit, inspected the gears, inspected the large final drive gear and its copper fingers that slide on the variable resistor pad. I put more tension on the copper fingers and used the surplus lube from inside and applied it to the gears. Reinstalled the unit and started my 2012 GMC Sierra with the A/C on, varied the temp setting cold to hot and back again, IT WORKS! Just my time and no parts.

    One thing I noticed when your first reprogrammed it, when you went to check if there was a code. That code said “History DTC” meaning it was stored before the reprogramming, maybe if you cleared it then checked again it wouldn’t of have popped up again?

    What computer program did you use during this process???? Or was it some Ipod that you attached to the truck to get the digital information. The reason Im asking is because if I replace the defective part do I need this program or Ipod to reset everything so the new part will work, or will it automatically start working correctly after the good part is installed???

    • @PhillipBailey
      @PhillipBailey  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I'm using a Snap-on Verus Edge tablet but many scanners are available to read codes and data as well as perform bidirectional testing. You can get the system to relearn by disconnecting the battery for several minutes. When you restart the truck don't operate any heater controls for a couple minutes while it's relearning.

    I have a question I’m having the same problem with the driver side, receiving warmer air and the passenger side having nice cold air. I will try to do what do you have shown us in this video. My question is when driving around the city without the Aceon I feel warm air coming through the vents of the driver side and not the passenger side. Is this the same issue

      Disconnect the battery for several minutes the reconnect it. Start the truck but don't touch the heater controls for a couple minutes. The system should perform a relearn on its own.

    So if the driver side is pushing warm air and the passenger side is not, the actuator motor to be replaced is on the passenger side, and not the driver side? Is this correct, meaning it’s the opposite side ?

    • @PhillipBailey
      @PhillipBailey  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I would say if its the passenger side that is not responding then it's the passenger door actuator which would be the lower actuator under the heater case.

    • @camerons3331
      @camerons3331 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I have a 2014. It’s blowing cold on the passenger side, warm ok the driver side. I check the actuator temp door on the driver side and I can see it physically moving (opening and closing). So it appears that is not it. Have any other recommendations to check or other issues the system could be having?

    • @PhillipBailey
      @PhillipBailey  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @camerons3331 the left or driver blend door actuator is on top and the right actuator is on the bottom. Are you watching the correct one? Is it setting any codes? Try a relearn procedure. Could have a broken shaft on the door. On some vehicles when the heater core starts to plug up one side can be affected more than the other although I haven't had that issue on these trucks

    • @camerons3331

      @@PhillipBailey I did a reset where I pulled the fuses from the driver side panel and unplugged the negative battery terminal, reattached it and then put the fuses back and it seems to be working. I did check the actuator on the bottom is moving, did not know if it was moving prior to the reset though. But for now, there is cold air on the driver side. We will see how long it lasts
