Low Note Compilation | G#1

  • A compilation of low notes from a variety of singers and genres, hence there's not about 300 clips of acapella which will probably upset some people but oh well. Each singer only used once.
    Making this into a descending chromatic series thing. See how long it’ll last lol.
    Hopefully if it’s good I’ll make more.
    Any mistakes on notes or singer identification let me know pls.
    Already prepped down to D1 so far so don't bother recommending singers for notes above D1 lol
    Please don't beg to be featured in a video, if you do I almost certainly won't put you in, and even if you don't beg you probably won't end up in the vid anyway.
    I'm not going to include random people burping out low notes for the sake of trying to see what they can scrape out. I want an element of quality in these videos lol. If someone appears that you don't know as a singer or the note seems more miscellaneous in nature or less in-context, I've included it as they are singer/having singing training/some sort of singing experience and they can use their voice properly and with purpose, not just for creating vocal clicks.

    i have an idea for G1 video. we know they all hit G1's, instead of popping a G1 on left bottom corner, you can pop the technique that bass singer uses

    • @matthewdockray9745
      @matthewdockray9745  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      1) I use the red note to highlight when the note is being sung which can be helpful especially if it’s in backings
      2) I don’t see the technique is necessary in these, it’s not a comparative video or anything, just a compilation of people singing a note with varying different techniques. Also I don’t want to mis-categorise a technique and it would probably cause arguments in the comments etc
      3) the video was edited like a week ago lol
      Thanks for the ideas though, I have other videos that showcase which technique/register is used if you haven’t watched them

    Also, I’m curious what you think about Candy Candido’s voice. What technique, if not chest, do you think he’s using
    Nice compilation :)

    • @matthewdockray9745
      @matthewdockray9745  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Nah Chris is covering bass through the song when Tim is in lead.
      With Candy, he’s using very well controlled ‘growl’ I believe. There’s probably a better name for it but I’m pretty sure it’s the same technique Tim Foust uses, just stronger and more refined, more tension, less air etc

      @@colefountain1030Candy used Ventricular Vocal mode( VVM) / some people call it growling. A type of throat singing, which is more supported and darker sound. Alexander Mayang( a young oktavist) uses this.

    • @matthewdockray9745
      @matthewdockray9745  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Reuben Thomas yeah I’ve seen his stuff. I get confused quite often between the different sorts of “growl”. As far as I know, the two basic sorts of growl are the one Tim Foust does (what I would consider ordinary growl and which I think candy does, just more reinforced and tighter), and one which I believe is just pushing air out of the larynx, but can be developed into throat bass. I think it’s my understanding that throat bass with regular vocal phonation over the top produces kargyraa? It’s hard to differentiate when the same term is used so loosely for different techniques

    i think one day you should maybe do a vocal range video on candy candido because ive read that he has a 4-octave range but i cant find any real information as to what his exact range is. i think he at least has 4 octaves bc i think in the one meat ball clip used in the C2 video right before he drops to the C2 he hits what sounds like a slightly flat C6?? which would be barely countable bc of how short it is but he hits it a couple times so i think it would count, and i cant find a note lower than G#1 but im not the most well versed in his music or figuring out peoples vocal ranges lol

    • @matthewdockray9745
      @matthewdockray9745  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      From what I’ve read, his showcased range was Eb1 - C6/B5, though F#1 to Eb1 were all laughs so are most likely non melodic notes, he had a solid G1 though. Interesting idea. Depends how much of his material I can find

Apparently he dips down to an E1 or something in “I’m feeling mighty low” but I can’t find an E1 in it anywhere unless I’m listening to the wrong recording but it’s the only version available on TH-cam.
