I think Ifrit is a character that has great design. She’s powerful, but has clear weakness in her range if you want to fully utilize her max potential. I had a lot of fun finding a place to put her back in the days. Operators like Walter is not only fcking crazy in damage, but has giga range and unfair survivability kit. It’s a gacha game so it’s understandable, especially for those that just want to clear stages braindead.
Ahh, the "Ifrit lanes" ... Pretty nostalgic since strong operator nowadays is either have wide range or has zero range (1 tile) so placement doesn't really matter ...
although it does show how some meta characters (Surtr, Logos, Wisadel, Mlynar, etc.) are crazy good, it doesn't account for other meta options that lack AoE Typhon, Ray, Goldenglow, Ash on release, etc. are really good meta options currently/meta during their time, they just lack AoE which got them knocked off the radar of the chart Supports that broke the healing meta (Shu, Eyja alter, Lumen, Skalter) or utility options (Bagpipe and Sailech) didn't even make it. You can even count Kal'tsit and Reedalter in this chategory cus the game calls them "Medics" I even noticed some weird skills coming up (Thorns S2, Ifrit S1 most notably) when you never see these skills ever come up in an actual clear. I'm honestly also mildy surprised by how Gavial was able to compete with Surtr, which was kinda funny cus nobody would ever realistically say Gavial can match Surtr's power
I know the disclaimer at the beginning of the video say to not take the video seriously. But I have already seem comments saying this is a good way to know which ops to raise...Please NO, Don't use this video as a reference to know which ops do more DPS. It's clearly taking into account the DPS an operator can do to several enemies. The video doesn't take into account vital things about ops and some hard hitting ops like Typhoon and Ray don't even show since they are more of Single target DPS ops. Please if you care about your account don't raise ops by looking at this video.
i mean im at lvl 110 rn and has prioritized every single top 10 dps in this list throughout the years, arknights really is a game that favor tower offense instead of defense so its really not bad idea to raise at least top 3 of this list
@@megugao I am 120 and have raised almost all ops 6* with module lvl3....what's your point? Even less for newbies that don't know which ops will impact their account more positively and could think this is a good way to know.
@@doktahsnotes3436 in reality none of the operators in that top 10 are bad, they're actually all really solid. Prioritizing Fiametta, Gavialter, ExeAlter over something like Thorns, Typhon, Saria or whatever just makes absolutely no sense at all. And DPS is not all that matters, I'd rather have one Saria built than Fiametta/Gavialter/ExeAlter combined. To be completely honest, if someone wiped all the progress from my account and left me with only the units at level 1 and I had to do it all over again, I would probably just E2 Thorns and Myrtle or something since that's basically all you need for 90% of the game, and then do all the Base operators before touching anything else. So if any new player is reading all this shit, that would be my recommendation. Please don't ignore your base, the better you set up your base the faster you can level other operators, and a lot of the good base ops are also really really good in general gameplay.
To be fair, Having Surtr be the main 6* you raise while going with lower star ops for ordinary content will take you pretty far. Mlynar is good mostly because of wave clear, but if you need something VERY dead, Surtr will get you there for the most part, especially with a little Warfrin backup.
I've no idea why people are trying to frame this as some gospel truth of damage. It's a fun graph that highlights how crazy theoretical damage for characters can be, and how much it changed over time. Way too big a portion of the Arknights community is lame as hell.
Cool video! Would love to see one that favors ST ops as well! Crazy to see how Surtr shattered the rankings, and then Wiš'adel came along and completely shattered them again.
Very interesting video, i was deliberating on making a static form this for curiosity`s sake. If you are inclined, would you consider making a "30s total damage on single target vs 0 DEF/RES" graph? I think it would really showcase the growth of the damage ceiling of the game.
Keep in mind that dps is always calculated under "optimal" conditions, so in the case of Gavial S3 we assume that she is blocking 5 enemies. Whether this is feasible under normal circumstances is another question. Surtr is a plug-and-play operator that is literally immortal for 8-9 seconds without requiring help from the team. She's easier to work with regardless of damage, hence why dps ranking should not be considered a meta tier list.
Surtr just seems to be the most consistent boss killer in the game with how she can't die until her skill duration runs out. I missed the Ling banner myself and would appreciate any opportunity to get her again.
Interesting video, Just a small criticism, I think if you're going to use 5 as the number of targets being hit. Probably should've used the avg def/res of an elite rather than a boss. It's pretty rare for there to be more than 1 or maybe 2 boss enemies in a stage, but you could have 5 elite enemies. So the dps situation that's being shown in this basically never exists in game. It's much more reasonable to see hitting 5 elites, or hitting 1 boss.
Hey I read the description and am probably missing something but why do the numbers fluctuate, If the calculations for the damage done by the operators is predetermined? Is it because as more enemies are added the average def and res changes? Also would love to see a similar video but instead with usage rate I think that’d be rly cool. Thanks for the vid, it was a trip down nostalgia lane,.
wow, fiametta has been pretty damn high on the list for a good while even when mlynar is out, and is somehow way higher than yato and chongyue!! surely she's a strong dps that doesn't completely crumble by herself or against anything with relatively higher def! (i know its all for fun but i didn't even expect fiametta to even appear on there, let alone thriving when wisadel was dominating everyone. but then ig it IS against 5 whole enemies
So FIA has 2 great traits % multipliers and a healthy self buff, like no support vs Skalter in the SQUARE is like 2k vs 3k, she's outing Chong in the right spot by a good margin.
@@absolutelypallets7378 yeah to be fair the vid is about non buff characters so having a self buff makes their dmg stronger too just as you said FIA have good self buff and so is surt having 20 pen. at first im also shock how she is high for quite some time despite her S3 not deal good dmg unless its right in the middle. but if you make it so that the enemies stay in place especially on the middle of the S3 the chart is quite accurate. sadly reality is quite different atleast for some of the ops in the vid. some of the top char in the vid like FIA does not feel that strong as dps compared to others that are not listed on the top
It's because this is calculated vs 5 enemies with pretty decent def/res. Since Ifrit shreds res and does great in AOE situations, her damage going to look a lot more powerful here. It's impossible to come up with a single DPS metric that doesn't disproportionate favor some operators, and it just so happens that Ifrit is favored by this metric. Although you could argue that her debuffs bring far more team DPS that are not being reflected here.
arknights fans are so negative and can't just enjoy some entertainment just a harmeless video but some are just filled with rage because their favorite Op isn't shown instead of seething at videos like this they should be directing that anger at the content thieves that just reupload bilibili animations
skalter really changes/buffs operators without + signs on their skills damage like eyja s2, bagpipe s2, almost all ray skills, and chen like guards including degen
Cuz based on his formula of DPS, degen need 10s normal attacks before she can activate the skill, which only lasts for ~4 seconds so the number is small: (skill total dmg + 10s normal attack dmg) divided by ~14
Tbh, I think it is fucking dope that Ifrit stayed on the chart as long as she did, just proves why she is the only 6 star of her archetype. Also, I love the fact that Dusk was up there as much as she was. She was my first limited operator, and is still my only of the Sui Siblings, so my love for her, although I like Shu more, is undeniable. I mean, Dusk has been a staple on my team since 2021, when I got her...
As weird as it sounds, ifrit s3 has a way more prevalent place in the meta now than chalter. There's so many replacements for Chalter, and her damage isn't even top tier anymore compared to mylnar wisadel and FedEx. Ifrit gives 40% res shred with 100% uptime. That's *ridiculous* and against an enemy with 70 res it is about 100% fragile (doubles all arts damage dealt). More than double suzuran damage amplification with 100% uptime.
Wisadel and Logos is about to become my favourite banner ever released in this game. Both of them characters I absolutely love and not to mention lowkey broken.
Cool video, man, it's a pleasure to see this kind of content, also remembering all this stuff from the start was really inspirational on a side note, I'm really surprised how a lot of people were offended that this way of dps calculation didnt favour their favourite ops, this amount of copium is insane
This should be way more upvoted. AK is one of those games stages, enemies stats, number of enemies and other things can mean an operator overlooked might be busted in a certain stage and conditions. The conditions OP put are a great comparison condition imo. And when/if people want to talk about single damage, no, it's not Typhon or their favourite ops that will be on top. If you consider stat bloat, only Schwarz and Ceobe (even more her) have great ways to deal with huge defenses. Those two will age like fine wine for niche conditions.
love this content - you mention calcs favor mt ops, but i do wonder how you determined the number of targets to consider for each chara, esp for true aoe ops like mostima
To determine the number of targets I either used keywords in the operators descriptions (e.g. "all enemies", "AOE Arts damage", etc.) or the skills/talents/traits descriptions. In general, I always double checked with viktorlab to make sure the number of attacked enemies was correct (until September 2023 anyway). Operators that targeted all enemies then had their "maxTarget" variable set to 999. Since I used only 5 enemies, they simply attacked all 5 enemies. Other operators were handled on a case-by-case basis, depending on what their skills/talents were. For example, Gavial Alter was assumed to be blocking (and therefore attacking) 5 enemies during S3 skill, but attacked only 3 enemies while off-skill. For on-deploy/always active skills, in general I followed viktorlab: if the skill had a positive duration, I considered a normal attack duration equal to the skill duration, otherwise I considered a flat duration of 10s. Of course, special cases were handled accordingly and consistently with viktorlab (for example, Nearl Alter S2 is always active, but the operator is removed after the skill, so the number of attacks was fixed to 0). For Surtr S3, still consistently with vitkorlab, I considered the maximum skill duration possible without healing, which should be around 33s.
@@kyarumomochi5146 I can still do it btw. But then other people would argue that Ebenholz having higher DPS than Mlynar makes no sense, since Mlynar would be at 1/5 of his capacity. Damned if you do and damned if you don't, as they say.
The idea is cool, but I think this shouldn't be done as one. I've done calculation myself in the past, and damage depends really really heavily on the circumstances. They should be done separately for: 1. Single target or multiple target. Once you count multiple targets, the calculation will really favor operators that can damage multiple targets, because it literally multiplies the numbers. 3 targets? 300% multiplier. Even among skills that hit multiple targets, the difference can be huge such as going from 3 targets to 5 is almost double. Then there are true AoE without target limit. While in reality you wouldn't be attacking that many target that often. The enemy positioning and attack area matter so much; specially for true AoE which usually have smaller area or tricky range. Perhaps log scaling should be used to enforce diminishing return? Idk 2. Steady (counting downtime), helidrop (only initial SP), or burst (don't care about any downtime but only about 15s attack window). Each operator has different usage and comparing them as one is just unfair. 3. DEF or RES, high or low. Because really, physical and arts operators are fighting different enemies. Also because DEF matters a lot for physical attacks with high hit count per second (Exu, Ash, Bagpipe, etc). 4. Attack buffs, specially for physical operators in burst window setting, because of how DEF works. Physical operators with high hit count per second benefits so much from this. They can be in separate videos. Though I don't know if there are actually demands for this.
Interesting that Thorns got so high on an AoE focused list, even if only briefly; More so that Omertosa DIDNT, Degen ended so low (is her off-skill dps that much hindrance?), and that Typhon didnt make the list, showing she's blown away by AoE DPS even by Fiametta - Ideally the metrics being done against 2 or 3 enemies, if not just 1, or against 5+ trash enemies (perhaps using DoS mobs as a basis due to their extraordinary stats?)
Once you've raised Mountain, Exusiai, Saria, Eyja, Ifrit, Blaze and Eyja Alter you're pretty much covered for most of AFK strats. Just be on the lookout for Logos next.

Why does the values slightly change overtime, shouldn't the dps be constant ? For example Surtr is around 7.5k, sometimes it goes higher and sometimes it goes lower, is this something to make the chart more visually appealing to look at, or is there a math reason behind this ? Also nice video, it was very interesting to watch :) (I knew Wisadel was strong but I didn't expected her to destroy the chart like that lol)

Wait a minute, i started to play Arknights again in May 2024, and Virtuosa and Viviana Banner are still there (considering it's a Limited banner), and the banner end in Mid June, is this the data from CN server? Edit 1: nvm, the data is from CN server, no wonder why the date of release is different since CN server is way faster than Global one.
The conditions are extremely strange. 5 enemies? Especially when you don't even consider how AoE Casters may have a harder time hitting all 5 enemies than, say, Mlynar? And did you really consider Average DPS? That's, like... extremely dumb. That also unfairly buffs Surtr who's considered to have 5 seconds off-skill and 43 seconds on-skill. Which is clearly unfair since it doesn't factor in Redeployment Time. Or Yalter because her skills take such low amounts of time

Surtr: Nah, I'd win
Also Surtr: 8:03
And not even close...
-Wis'adel The Limited One-
Soon it will be Wisadel the forbidden one
although it does show how some meta characters (Surtr, Logos, Wisadel, Mlynar, etc.) are crazy good, it doesn't account for other meta options that lack AoE
Typhon, Ray, Goldenglow, Ash on release, etc. are really good meta options currently/meta during their time, they just lack AoE which got them knocked off the radar of the chart
Supports that broke the healing meta (Shu, Eyja alter, Lumen, Skalter) or utility options (Bagpipe and Sailech) didn't even make it. You can even count Kal'tsit and Reedalter in this chategory cus the game calls them "Medics"
I even noticed some weird skills coming up (Thorns S2, Ifrit S1 most notably) when you never see these skills ever come up in an actual clear.
I'm honestly also mildy surprised by how Gavial was able to compete with Surtr, which was kinda funny cus nobody would ever realistically say Gavial can match Surtr's power
Gavial alter is strong. Is just she doesnt get the surtr 8s immortality.
I mean gavialter was a meta laneholder for a while.
Believe me having fiammeta or not having her doesn't make any impact in your account despite her being in the top almost half of the video.
This video is literally one bubble that shouldn't be taken seriously (As the guy that made the same video said) by anyone.
@@mjcwvo if you wiped your account from all levels, the first Op you should E2 is the blue woman and solo the whole game.
To be fair, Having Surtr be the main 6* you raise while going with lower star ops for ordinary content will take you pretty far. Mlynar is good mostly because of wave clear, but if you need something VERY dead, Surtr will get you there for the most part, especially with a little Warfrin backup.
there is a reason why people say just surtr it and not something like just mlynar it
I stand with "just shirnk shirnk it" side ...
Silverdaddy, Mostima, and Mylnar ...
@@ManusiaKagakRusuhand Tequila! He's still pretty good
Ifrit Supremacy, stayed in the top 10 for almost the entire life time of AK LETS GOOO
Cool vid, also love seeing Fiammetta hang on for so long.
Shout out to our pyromaniac who held on for almost 4 years :)
I've no idea why people are trying to frame this as some gospel truth of damage. It's a fun graph that highlights how crazy theoretical damage for characters can be, and how much it changed over time. Way too big a portion of the Arknights community is lame as hell.
Love the edit!
Ngl i like this content
I know how dominant Surtr will be but I didn't expect Gavialter to be able to catch up with her module. I think I know who I should build next
She's easier to work with regardless of damage, hence why dps ranking should not be considered a meta tier list.
can we please awkoledge that Ifrit remained in the top 10 the longest
Surtr just seems to be the most consistent boss killer in the game with how she can't die until her skill duration runs out.
I missed the Ling banner myself and would appreciate any opportunity to get her again.
Surtr just in the fucking top for the entirety until WIS’ADEL
Interesting video,
Just a small criticism, I think if you're going to use 5 as the number of targets being hit.
Welll, nice video! Now waiting for checking against single targets bcs this is how damage is always compared
nice one
also, seeing dusk stay so long in the chart makes me a bit happy i wont lie
2:22 "Laevatainn!!!!" gave me goosebumps
You got Walter because she’s meta.
I got Walter because I don’t want to be happy no more, I just want to goon till next dawn.
We are not the same.
so 5 years huh?... 5 years of memories in this game...
"Is it because as more enemies are added the average def and res changes?"
Surtr jumpscare 2:21
wow, fiametta has been pretty damn high on the list for a good while even when mlynar is out, and is somehow way higher than yato and chongyue!! surely she's a strong dps that doesn't completely crumble by herself or against anything with relatively higher def!
@@absolutelypallets7378 yeah to be fair the vid is about non buff characters so having a self buff makes their dmg stronger too just as you said FIA have good self buff and so is surt having 20 pen. at first im also shock how she is high for quite some time despite her S3 not deal good dmg unless its right in the middle. but if you make it so that the enemies stay in place especially on the middle of the S3 the chart is quite accurate. sadly reality is quite different atleast for some of the ops in the vid. some of the top char in the vid like FIA does not feel that strong as dps compared to others that are not listed on the top
well done
Ifrit S3 best dps skill in the game sounds unreal, and I'm saying this as someone who started playing less than 6 months after release
Although you could argue that her debuffs bring far more team DPS that are not being reflected here.
i use her s2 in the sand to sherd the incoming waves down a narrow lane i made lol, not too sure about s3 tho lool
@@bencoad8492 that's actually a great idea, I've never been an ifrit fan so I just never consider her as an option
@@cyanm4genta she is situational thats for sure

ดีมากเลย โปรดทำคลิปดีๆ แบบนี้มาอีกเยอะ
skalter really changes/buffs operators without + signs on their skills damage like eyja s2, bagpipe s2, almost all ray skills, and chen like guards including degen
Idk why degen ranked so low when she's stronger than most of the upper ones
Cuz based on his formula of DPS, degen need 10s normal attacks before she can activate the skill, which only lasts for ~4 seconds so the number is small: (skill total dmg + 10s normal attack dmg) divided by ~14
I never hear or see anyone talking about or using gavial alter. never knew she was on par with sutr.
probably because it is harder to pot 6 her as she's limited?
surtr really be the last one standing before finally beatin in the last round
Tbh, I think it is fucking dope that Ifrit stayed on the chart as long as she did, just proves why she is the only 6 star of her archetype. Also, I love the fact that Dusk was up there as much as she was. She was my first limited operator, and is still my only of the Sui Siblings, so my love for her, although I like Shu more, is undeniable. I mean, Dusk has been a staple on my team since 2021, when I got her...
Really didnt expect to see Fiametta here
Of course it isn't even close. Wisadel just bangs
Its interesting to see barans chalter s3 usage going down but ifrit s3 still going strong over time
As weird as it sounds, ifrit s3 has a way more prevalent place in the meta now than chalter.
So is it save to assume Logos is the strongest maleknights ? ...
Cool video, man, it's a pleasure to see this kind of content, also remembering all this stuff from the start was really inspirational
on a side note, I'm really surprised how a lot of people were offended that this way of dps calculation didnt favour their favourite ops, this amount of copium is insane
E: also how you managed frd and other ops with on-deploy skills or surtr/amiya s3 type skills
@@smallphi That makes things confusing. Chalter can reach infinite DPS if there are enough enemies. You should have used single target dps
@@smallphi So Surtr's dps was that high including the time she's dead? that's wild.
@@kyarumomochi5146 I can still do it btw. But then other people would argue that Ebenholz having higher DPS than Mlynar makes no sense, since Mlynar would be at 1/5 of his capacity. Damned if you do and damned if you don't, as they say.
I had no idea Rosmontis's S3 could have this much dps.
The idea is cool, but I think this shouldn't be done as one. I've done calculation myself in the past, and damage depends really really heavily on the circumstances. They should be done separately for:
1. Idk
Though I don't know if there are actually demands for this.
i first got Fiammetta when i started to play this game, she literally carried my team solo when i got her to s3
The Laevatein went crazy ngl
Interesting that Thorns got so high on an AoE focused list, even if only briefly; More so that Omertosa DIDNT, Degen ended so low (is her off-skill dps that much hindrance?), and that Typhon didnt make the list, showing she's blown away by AoE DPS even by Fiametta - Ideally the metrics being done against 2 or 3 enemies, if not just 1, or against 5+ trash enemies (perhaps using DoS mobs as a basis due to their extraordinary stats?)
all of this and Myrtel is still eternal
you have chosen the best arknights OST for this video. full speed ahead dokutah

Why does the values slightly change overtime, shouldn't the dps be constant ? For example Surtr is around 7.5k, sometimes it goes higher and sometimes it goes lower, is this something to make the chart more visually appealing to look at, or is there a math reason behind this ?

Those 2 literaly turn the games to ez mode due to simplycity yet broken ass capability, while you almost bring them in any stage.
Im trying to figure out what this graph actually represents? Like i get its a dps graph but under what circumstances.
Or Yalter because her skills take such low amounts of time
This video is just horrible. Idk what the guy assumed at all
