Hey guys hope you enjoy this walk across Morrowind. So I wanted to mention, I turned down the mouse sensitivity to the lowest setting and it still was insanely fast turning. Hopefully you don't get to disoriented while watching hehe... my bad 🤡
Same, I didn’t own my own Xbox, but my brother understood my NEED to use his to play Morrowind when I visited. For like a solid 6 months lol. The main theme still gets me insanely emotional, it’s a bit ridiculous but I wouldn’t have it any other way!
*The ramblings of Tarhiel, inventor of the long-distance jumping spell* I believe I may have found the correct formula for the spell I am developing. With it, I will be able to travel great distances without the need to pay others for the service. If all goes well, I will test out the new spell tomorrow. I believe I have worked out all of the possible complications. It will allow me to leap great distances, covering many hundreds of miles. Never before has one been able to travel in this manner: vaulting from the ground, sailing through the sky, all without that terrible disorientation of a spell of flying. The time is almost upon me. My research is finished, and all of my calculations are checked and rechecked. They laughed at me when I suggested this. We'll see who laughs after I leap to the top of their towers and scream out my success.
@@Clystron426 I usually take the same path as before lol but sometimes I’ll role play. The side quests, while numerous, are still kinda dull so I ended up doing all the factions I can along with the dlc
@Brandon Renner how is it going backwards to morrowind? I also grew up on oblivion, played when it came out and for years after and only just recently played skyrim during covid... I've always heard morrowind is VERY good, but worry that it's too dated meaning that coming from skyrim and oblivion it'll feel boring. did you feel like that, or does it hold up? I'm curious since everyone says it's reaaaaally really good and better than those two lol. I remember trying it out and playing just 5 mins and unsure what was going on lol
I love that they used all of this music and ambience for Solstheim in Skyrim too. It legit made me stay in Solstheim for WAY longer than I would have otherwise. It was so nostalgic.
Absolutely. I only played maybe a few hours worth of Skyrim when it came out (didn’t have the console) so when I recently got my own anniversary edition for the Switch, my flabber was gasted when I got to Solstheim. All the Morrowind architecture, the Red Mountain spewing ash in the distance. The netches along the coast. It was like I was reliving a past life. Crazy how videogames can do that.
My homeschooled siblings and I played this so much that my Dad hid it, telling us to bring our grades up before we could play it again. Little did he know, that we knew where he hid it and for a whole year we would get the disc off of the top of the shelf, pop it in and play for an hour or two and he never knew. After the school year was over he was like, “Well, you did all right this year so you all can finally play that game you love so much.” Us: 👀👀 Yes sir
If your oblivion walk video was on tape, I would have worn it out months ago. I listen to it every night to help me sleep. Just starting this video now. The only thing about the oblivion video that bugged me was how loud the door opening sounds are, but that's not on you, that's Bethesda. Nothing like finally drifting off to sleep to be jarred awake by door slam loud enough to rival a nuclear explosion. What was Todd thinking lol
I can't believe all these years later, searching for morrowind videos to crash out to and I find this masterpiece. Oh how I miss this game, the sheer capacity with the construction set tool.. what an amazing nostalgia trip this is and I just might go replay it AGAIN.

Hey, I may be a commie but I agree 100% Morrowind was definitely the best game in the series. None of the others really nailed the sense of alien realism that Morrowind excelled at. Soundtrack, like the game, was simple but elegant.
No other fantasy game has made the unnatural feel so natural as Morrowind did. I was honestly disappointed when I first played Oblivion and just found normal trees, normal grass, normal deer, etc. Oblivion was so utterly vanilla compared to Morrowind's unique landscape.
i was happily listening to this while writting, when out of nowhere i heard the *distinct noises of a familiar falling mage*. I was spooked to say the least lol, immediatly went to the video in another tab to see none other than the goofus himself lying down by his tome lol Excellent vid.
For anyone wondering, I’m guessing he’s using MWGE,which is a graphics enhancer that allows for rendering larger landscapes and buildings,as well as unique skyboxes. Haven’t used it personally as I messed up the installation process but it’s super easy all said and looks great because it relieves the “stretch” look higher FOV monitors come with when loading in without it.
Morrowind is literally the game I grew up with. Notice can replace the memories of me finishing homework and reading endless journey logs and dialogue and never get bored.
Ah, to feel the same awe I felt when I got into the first ash storm, or when I delved the first cave, or saw Vivec for the first time. It was the first game where the game world felt like a *place* and not a level, to me.
My dude is playing on Peaceful Mode lol. Tbh I wish I could do this for Skyrim, it’d be nice to just ride horseback for a day or two and take in the scenery.
Funny how nothing could turn a game from relaxing to stressful as quickly as when the battle music starts in the middle of nowhere and you hear flapping.
The combat is really off-putting if you're coming from Oblivion or Skyrim. What helped me was the realization of the "under the hood" dice rolls that the combat relies on. For instance, if you have a low skill in "long blade" and you are using a long blade weapon, your chance to land a hit is going to be much lower. The game doesn't really explain this dice roll mechanic, and visually it looks similar to Skyrim and Oblivion so it doesn't make sense when it looks like you should be landing hits but you're not. Another factor that impacts your chance to land successful blows is your Agility attribute. If your agility is low and your skill level in whatever weapon you're using is low, you're going to miss constantly and die a lot. If I may make a suggestion, try using a character that focuses primarily on one weapon type (I always like to go Long blade) and try to raise your Endurance, Agility and Strength attributes up as quickly as possible. Use the skills that are governed by those specific attributes to get the maximum amount of bonus points when you level up. For instance, if you increase your skill in "long blade" ten times between level ups, you'll get the maximum bonus of 5 points to put into your Strength attribute when you get to that level up screen. Same thing with the "heavy armor" skill and the endurance attribute. You can also utilize skill trainers throughout the world to help you raise skills faster so you can get those sweet bonus attribute points much easier. You may already realize this and if so my apologies, but I notice a lot of people get turned away from Morrowind because they don't realize that their low agility and low skill with whatever weapon they're using, or low skill with magic is causing the internal dice roll to roll against them and they get frustrated. Hope this helps. Morrowind is a very rich and rewarding game that makes you feel quite literally like a god, once you master its archaic game mechanics.
Will you do some Morrowind videos like you did with the other Elder Scrolls longplays ? I've been binge watching all of them on your channel and I've been having that delightful comfort feeling, like when I played these games years ago, now I'm craving more =D
