    pulse signal was used for fallout, but it was never used for nuclear powerplant meltdowns.... Exelon corperation, for example, the company that designed, built and operated Peach bottom NPP, Calvert Cliffs NPP, Three Mile Island NPP used for the former 2 exclusively thunderbolt 1000s. Three mile island used a majority of ACA sirens. None of which were capable of pulse. The NRC never put a requirement for a mass notification reverse 911 system that required the ability to sound a pulse signal.

      The pulsed signal is meant to be used for fire departments. It is a variation of Hi-Lo, the Fire signal. For war-type threats, the appropriately named Attack signal is used which is a wail. Nuclear fallout is within the scope of a war-type threat.

      This signal could also be used for volcanic fallout as well. Could have used it in 1980 for areas east of Mt St Helens

    You could have totally passed this off as a synth of Newberry's old system, as it consisted entirely of thunderbolt 1003's and one 3T22 that all ran the fire signal with each of the thunderbolt sounding similar pitches to those in this video.

    Somebody with an untrained ear that's never heard a siren may find this relaxing, but one who knows the meaning of this signal would be stoned. The person that is ignorant to siren signals may sit there and listen to the sirens, relaxed, while radiation slowly eats away at their body. And when they finally realize, it would be too late. The creepy implications of this signal is what makes it so scary.

      Pulse is a variation of Hi-Lo. Both are meant for the same purposes, just one may be better than the other depending on the geographical area. For example, if a 3T22 is in a wooded area you may consider using pulse because both tones at once in short blasts will be louder and penetrate trees better than alternatively playing just one tone at one time, which is Hi-Lo.

      It's used for nuclear fallout generally.

    • @Joethaboss66
      @Joethaboss66 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No, it is not. Almost all civil defense sirens installed were not coded sirens, and for the sirens that were, coded signals were never used for war-type threats. Pulse is a variation of the Fire signal, aka Hi-Lo. The Fire signals pulse, undulating pulse, Hi-Lo, and undulating Hi-Lo are supposed to be used by fire departments to summon volunteers. The signal for nuclear fallout would be the Attack signal, as nuclear fallout is under the scope of a war-type threat, which the Attack signal is used supposed to be for. The whole premise of damper equipped sirens is for them and their coded signals to be used by fire departments.
