No one hates Star wars more than Star wars fans, I'll probably give it a try, but i'm not gearing myself up to expect too much, so I can at least go into it with an unbiased viewing
It is because of the marketing and behind the scenes interviews, How the actress and Leslye Headland (Weinstein's assistant once upon a time) constantly push how they are CHANGING established lore to how they want it to be, instead of how it was set up to be by George Lucas back in the 70s. I see potential, I see decent choreography. I see flashy sequences. But that isn't what Star Wars is entirely made up of. There were things set up that were ignored. And some of the design just doesn't hit. I am not a fan of Disney's interpretation of Star Wars, mainly because of the disrespect from the makers when the Fans gave objective criticism around Last Jedi and were called Man Babies and Basement Dwelling Cousin Humpers by people who WORKED FOR DISNEY. I want Star Wars on the Screen to be good, but the quality has slipped because of constant inconsistency. For me, I grew up on Star Wars. I was 2 years old when I saw the full Original Trilogy, I remember all the feelings and emotions I felt from it even though at the time I couldn't fully comprehend the words or scope. But it was enough to get me hooked. And since then, I absorbed all the content I could. But after 2008, I started to notice the inconsistency under Filoni, the changes to what was already established, and then its outright destruction under Disney who promised to respect it. Their biggest disrespect was turning their backs on the ORIGINAL fanbase which was HUNDREDS of MILLIONS of People. Put yourself in their (And my) shoes for a moment. Growing up and absorbing this content since it came out, and after 30 years of its love towards fans, along comes someone who turns it on its head, joins in on Disney who then tells fans of 34 years that their beloved canon is no longer canon and will be discarded. And that the new stuff isn't made for them, but for others. Anyone with common sense is not going to take that lying down. Many of those older fans gave the "Sequels" a chance, but when they proved disappointing along with what Rebels did, Disney lost their minds and started attacking fans AGAIN. The moral of the story, do NOT attack and steal from fans and then play the victim and make up lies when they turn their backs on you for (in their eyes) BUTCHERING the lore and legacy of George Lucas. I enjoyed your video and hop your channel grows. I also hope my words are not taken as attacks, merely an explanation and answer to your question as to why there is a LOT of hate for the Acolyte. The soul of Star Wars is missing and they sacrificed Story for just flashiness and that doesn't make a good product by itself. I will be watching it, but with an objective eye.
Oh, and no, it's not her old master, and she didnt go to the dark side, actually she is playing twins. I guess it's really her evil twin that is the evil one. Not that I care at this point. I would need to see a lot of changes before Id watch it.
From looking at tumblr, it's that the trailer makes the show look like it's setting up the Jedi as villains/going to be pro-Sith, or at least Sith-sympathetic? I'm planning to watch for Dafne Keen--Jedi X-23, let's goooooooooo.

From what I'm seeing, many people are just hating because they think it's the right stance to take. They see the next person hating and they're jumping on the bandwagon. I guess I can't believe no one has mentioned it, but one large problem for me is that the show is excluding all wht males. Like not just the trailer, but the episodes as well. How is that OK? Thats who Star Wars started out about. Thats a huge portion of Star Wars fans and they decide to simply not have any characters like that? But also maybe because people have been watching girls fight a lot already? The Marvels, Madame Web, Prey, Furiosa, Rebel Moon. Damsel. Besides, Trinity looks like she has a poker up her backside, and the other on is doing the moon walk.
The problem is Andor proved Disney cud make something good if you keep certain people at Disney out of it. This show has those same people that ruined the other shows and movies involved with it.
Also, there's subconscious sexism too. There's always a higher chance of female leads and characters being hated on and being held to impossibly high standards.

It's hard right? because people have subconscious sexism inside. When I went back and rewatched Obi-Wan I realized Reva was actually a good character. I was just caught up with the false sense of "shoving PC down my throat" when there wasn't.
The teaser footage looked like ass. They were trying to capture the essence of the matrix rather than Starwars. Thats the biggest flaw imo with disney SW: it doesnt capture the essence of starwars
If I want Kung fu Ill watch a Kung fu or Bollywood Movie/show. Jedi aren't Hand to Hand combat expert. There not" Warhammer Space marines" trained in every form of combat. There Wizards with swords. Like the last Sith Who lazily jumped at a jedi master Had His legs cut off. The Last one who tried the kick Obi wan Murdered with a single saber slice. This guy stole her assassin knifes and left them by his feet. did force crush them or Force yeet them, He didnt force slam or push her. Just so lazy kung fu and A jedi master who cant tell a twin apart, Something Babies can do btw.

IMO people would be more open to The Acolyte if it was tied to Luke's new order... Something to follow ROTJ instead of a prequel to the prequels
