Hello Laura: I am so glad to have found your series of videos. All the things Nonna cooked but I did not get the chance to learn from her. Just have a need to embrace Italian cooking. Thank you.
Looks Delicious ! My go to was to roast the peppers under the broiler, almost the same ingredients that I use except I add the Red Pepper Flakes,Calmata Olives and Anchovies. You hit a home run with this !!! All that is needed now is a crusty loaf of Italian bread and a jug of Carlo Rossi Paisano !!!
I have made this a few times. Delicious! Today I'm gonna try it out with eggplant but I won't be using basil for the sauce just oil garlic salt and pepper. 😊
i'm going through your recipes , wow , this was 2010!!! you're practically a pioneer.....you are so sweet, look and remind me of my daughter....we're in pa now but are from jersey....thanks for these really tasty recipes...God bless you.
❤ not only is this one of my favorite things to eat especially with a good Italian bread. But you look just like my beautiful sister. ❤ She made her roasted peppers just like you. Good job !Good recipe ! Good technique . For all of you you are in for a treat enjoy !
My Grandmother & My Mom use to stick a fork into them & Hold them over the Stove flame, then into a Brown paper Bag Delicious, thanks for sharing Laura
I have watched many of your videos and just came upon this and it took me a minute to realize this is probably early on your you tube videos, still very pretty today as then.
idk if anyone replyed to you but heres what i do...i put them in the oven, on HIGH on the top rack (shelf). then of course, i flip them until they look something like lauras looked...i hope this was helpful!:)
My mother does that with aubergines, and peels the charred skin off. Oulp flesh and cook further with onions and or whatever else, one can imagine. Yummy! Thanks Laura. Nice vid. ps: you look just as lovely three years ago:-)
My Roasted pepper recipe was based on this recipe. But I changed a bit the ingredients and also used the cold water to wash the pepper ;p. But it was still good and delicious!!!
and also, you will remove the outer burned skin before eating, which for sure isn't healthy :) so yeah, I'm not a chemist, but in my opinion there isn't that much to worry about. If you still prefer not to do it like this, try it when you throw a bondfire or something :) should do the job as well
I made these and then went on to make the bruschetta per laura other video recipe. My wife has just asked me to make more for her visiting family. Now i am thinking should i or should i not make it for the in-laws
haha sorry, forgot to mention that English isn't my native language ;) (it's Dutch, in case you were interested) I should've known water though, because it's the same word in Dutch ;) I know it uses natural gas, the hydrogen sulphide changes to SO2 and H2O, about the SO2: it is poisening. BUT I would rather say that it's actually a quite common gas amongst us, from burning every type of oil/gas from the earth. and, i doubt that it would react with the peppers in that way that you're eating SO2
...despite the cooking method being/looking totally perverse, i guess the whole thing tastes very nice. Never peeled skin off any vegetable in my life, but may give this one a whirl...
Wouldn't it be unhealthy? It's afterall a gas stove. Those gases are just going to be infused into the capsicums? I'm really not sure if I should let my family try these...
watching her transform from then to now is awesome! good for her, she deserves all the great things that she has going for her!
hard work and dedication. 3 million subs is nothing to sneeze at. her videos look so polished now but it kind of takes away the humbleness of a home grown down to earth thing.
Excellent! Simplest method I've yet to see! Thank you!!
So good. I added some chilli flakes and a dash of lemon for some extra zing and it turned out FANTASTIC! Thanks Laura!
OMG It’s baby Laura! 🤗 So glad I found this video 😊

You are brilliant and really really a cooker.
I've made this recipe multiple times. It always turns out great.

Thank you for sharing. I'm definitely burning those on my stove next time. And do the paper bag tric ;) Fun to see you in these early episodes ♡
Shake the bag next time with the peppers in it and the skin will be almost all off.
So much FUN watching the early shows. You and Joseph have come so far. Lots of love and many blessings!!!
❤ not only is this one of my favorite things to eat especially with a good Italian bread. But you look just like my beautiful sister. ❤ She made her roasted peppers just like you. Good job !Good recipe ! Good technique . For all of you you are in for a treat enjoy !
Love this. Mouth watering
LOOKS FANTASTIC!
Use a spoon to scrape and remove the burnt skins, then scrape out the seed. Much faster if you're doing a lot of peppers.
Always great.
Thx
My Grandmother & My Mom use to stick a fork into them & Hold them over the Stove flame, then into a Brown paper Bag Delicious, thanks for sharing Laura
looks great, I give this a try, Thank you.
great recipe I can't wait to try it
1:46 the way you cut that garlic both impressed me and scared me
The red peppers would make a great garnish for grilled meat, like steak!
Love this ! Thanks
I have watched many of your videos and just came upon this and it took me a minute to realize this is probably early on your you tube videos, still very pretty today as then.
just a question, you don't need to cook the garlic?
No
We’ll done ! Good job girl
It can also steam in a plastic bag very well too.
This looks so delicious. I will try this for sure, perhaps with some fresh mozzarella.
stick them on the top shelf of your oven with the broil on high, it works just as well
Looks awesome, can't wait to try them, thanks Laura!\
MAGICAL
i just found ur channel and i absolutely love it! you are soo amazing! :)
love it.. thanks for sharing
I made this recipe with 4 colors peppers. Oh! so beautiful and tasteful.
She has good knife skills!
Love it
awesome eats!
Great video. I always wondered how roasted peppers were done.
idk if anyone replyed to you but heres what i do...i put them in the oven, on HIGH on the top rack (shelf). then of course, i flip them until they look something like lauras looked...i hope this was helpful!:)
Yumm I love these. Thanks for the recipe
Is there a big flavour benefit from the gas flame rather than easy roasting in the oven?
Quick question, can these be stored in a jar? I would love to make this in bulk!
yes, I can mine in mason jars with some apple cider vinegar, sea salt and water after I roasted them over a wood fire
My mother does that with aubergines, and peels the charred skin off. Oulp flesh and cook further with onions and or whatever else, one can imagine. Yummy!
Thanks Laura. Nice vid.
ps: you look just as lovely three years ago:-)
I'd love to make these! I only have an electric stove though, so how should I roast the peppers?
Try a BBQ, that might work. Never tried it myself, but give it a shot anyway.
@@plasteredandcastered6820 I don't have a bbq either, I'm just a college student lol, but thanks anyways! Maybe someday
You can roast them in the oven on broil
I make this all the time. They are mostly requested when I make steak or a nice big Antipasti
My Roasted pepper recipe was based on this recipe. But I changed a bit the ingredients and also used the cold water to wash the pepper ;p. But it was still good and delicious!!!
I also have a lot off experience of picking things up with my hands. would it be ok if I didn't bother using tongs.
Can we use a pan instead of directly putting them on fire? I am not sure if I can handle that process
THANK YOU IM GOING TO TRY IT
my girlfriend said i won her over after i cooked her this with a piece of steak and some mozzarella
How did you use the mozzarella?
u would win almost every woman with that I think haha sounds delish!
you guys get married yet? :)
joegenova yes
@@rolexd see, cooking is the way to their heart too :)) congrats!
Hi Laura...& thnks for your Videos...they all help me...……..U very funny & great for the camera.
Keep it up . . !
if you have a glass top stove you can you a flat skillet like the ones you do pancakes on and roast them there ... It works for me..
Hi just came across this video. How about if I have electric stove. ☹️☹️
Oldschool episode. Damn.
Vintage Laura in the Kitchen😂
wrap the peppers with aluminum foil and then put on stove top, it'll do the trick
How do you clean your Hob?
We don't have a flame cooker, but the conventional hob type rings. I take it the peppers should not be put on that type of ring ?
Thank you
❤️my favourite
I like to cut some of these into a small dice and add to my Thanksgiving turkey stuffing.
Can u do this with green peppers
yes, but it does not taste the same. red peppers are ripe and more fleshy and sweeter in flavor. it comes out different, but you can do it.
great
brava
Haha to you too. Enjoy! ;)
you are excellent
I need to find me a wife like Laura!
+av5283471r PICK HER PICK HER!

I don't have gas stove, can I do it on a hot plate ?
+Wei Zeng broiler or grill if no gas

*God you looked so young in this 2010 video Laura*
Ralphie_Boy I thought her cheeks looked chubby
I made these and then went on to make the bruschetta per laura other video recipe. My wife has just asked me to make more for her visiting family. Now i am thinking should i or should i not make it for the in-laws
how can you do it if you dont have so fire ??

@inkey2 I tried to do it on an electric oven. Very dumb.
Someone taught you how to cook. Very nice
Dope
wonder how fireman bob feels about this video?
I've heard of Fireman Sam but not fireman Bob :)
Laura looks like student here. I am back here after 8 years
you look sooooo pretty laura!!!!
well... as you might know, the gas is burned, the only thing left is CO2 and H2O (don't know the English words for them) so, no reason to be worried!
You could just put the peppers in the oven on 400 for about 30 to 40 minutes.
I am no hannibal if that's what you're thinking ;). My comment serves very well to people with great sense of humor ;)
First time I have seen a video of you when you were so young. You are beautiful, still are. PS Your receipes are great too :)
i am in love...
I like the skin......and the seeds.
Lets first show you how to roast red peppers!
- Get some peppers!
- Roast them!
Now we will marinate them!
- Marinate them!
Voila!
glass works too, i have glass and it works perfectly fine.
My gf said they look delicious, but I can't seem to understand why you don't wash the peppers to remove the burnt part.
This is exactly how we prepare red peppers in Europe.
Wow this one is old!
Aw Laura, I love you! You are just as cute now as you where in this video! :)
ohhh ;) hahha good one!
Wouldn't it be unhealthy? It's afterall a gas stove. Those gases are just going to be infused into the capsicums? I'm really not sure if I should let my family try these...
