- African dishes are some of the most comforting meals you’ll ever eat. When visiting Monrovia, Liberia, trying as much traditional West African food should be at the top of your list! Going to West African restaurants in Liberia can really make for an experience that feels even more authentic.
There are many different kinds of West African restaurants that vary from cold bowl shops (super cheap meals) to fine dining spots. Yes it's USD -- perhaps it can get cheaper in Liberia and I just didn't go to those places. Put me on and let me know where I should visit next time for better prices!

I guess these places are for mostly foreign guests. The prices are not realistic for local income.
Thank you for this feedback! You make a great point. I did see a lot of locals at these spots, but I agree that the vast majority probably aren’t visiting these spots very regularly - unless they’re a little more well off.

Why so much rice? Are people eating so much because they are getting ready to go to war? I guess Liberia must have a lot of pregnant men 😂😂😂
Finally, you said Musu Spot was the only restaurant that did not cheat on the portions. Hmm. The first two restaurants had a lot of food. If they are cheating on the portions, it's a good thing. Better to keep it on the down low. I mean, you would be saving lives and fighting obesity 😢😢
