I am from Yemen and and I was educated in Damascus Syria in the 1980s. I received a degree in Internal medicine. All expenses were paid by the Syrian government. I will be indebted to The Syrian government and people forever. The Syrian people are resilient, they will overcome the current obstacle. May allah protect Syria and its people. 🙏

I never watch the media, or the news, as I know that incredible countries such as Syria & Lebanon, etc; are so often "intently" painted in a very negative light, but in absolute "truth", when you make a real life personal visit to such countries, you quickly come to see, that the media was very wrong.
Syria oh Syria, how I love you & your amazing, sweet, very welcoming & hospitable peoples. The "peoples" are what makes Syria so very special. They're some of the world's genuinely friendliest.
From the rich history, to the beautiful culture, to the most incredible foods & such a deliciously varied cuisine, to the beautiful historic architecture, the gorgeous streets, old accommodation & scenery abound & so much more, are some of the "many" reasons, why a visit to Syria will never ever disappoint.
You are such an unfairly "underrated" country yet you shouldn't be whatsoever.
I love the saying, "You will never ever go hungry in Syria".
And I will add, that you will never get bored/run out of foodie choices, with the amazing selection of high quality food on offer abound.
This was very enjoyable viewing, so much so, that I will watch multiple times over.
I wish all the lovely people of Syria, ongoing peace for the future & only the very best that this life has to offer.🙏

Spot on! I was in the region for nearly 18 months studying at the American University of Beirut 12 years ago, it was truly an unforgettable experience! Lebanon, like Syria is stunningly gorgeous and same goes for the people and their first class gastronomy ! I have to say, they beat the French, the Italians, the Spanish, the Turks, the Greeks. I got to visit Damascus, Aleppo and Latakia. I enjoyed every moment of that trip and the kindness of the Syrian people, so similar to the Lebanese! I must go back! I’m disgusted by our Western governments and how they brought war and chaos to Syria, Lebanon and Palestine!

I’m another Norwegian who’s totally convinced that the best food and cooking I had in my life was in the Near East: Lebanon and Syria. It was after my trip to the region that I realized how poor is European cooking, even the Italians don’t come anywhere near!
Does anyone know where our gothic cathedrals’ architecture like Notre Dame or the Duomo of Florence or St Paul cathedral in London were taken from? 98% of Europeans are clueless, we think it’s Roman or Greek, but that’s wrong! We took it from the first Syrian cathedral called Alba Louzé . Many British historians wrote about it: Diane Blake’s book ‘What we stole from the Sarazins’.

and in Lebanon from 66% as a majority to 33%
and Palestine from 10 % before Israeli occupation 1948 to less than 2% of the population.

Christians were 25% of all Arab region population in the early 20th century and under the ottoman empire, now christians are just 5% of the Arab region population 😮.

Syrian cuisine may the best and most underrated food in the world. So much variety in its ingredients. Some of my favorite dishes: pumpkin cooked in a lamb tomato stock seasoned with dried mint. Wrapped grape leaves with whole cloves of garlic served with a ground lamb and tomato sauce. Lamb dumplings in a yogurt sauce served with fried cilantro, tomato, and garlic garnish. That’s not even getting into the incredible variety of desserts.

I made this comment in your first video but it's worth it to make it again. What makes Syrian food so special isn't just the talent of the chefs, the ancient recipes, the unique flavours and combinations, but also the fact that Syrian food is all from Syria. All the meat, fruit, and vegetables are local, they are not imported from Iraq, Turkey, or Europe, or wherever. This means the ingredients are super fresh, non-GMO, organic, and everything you eat came only an hours drive away at most. That's why Syrian food is the best!

I love the minute 4:30 when Mark passes through the picture of the vice president the dictator bashar el-kalb LOL, he looks to the pictures and ignores it, they take him from this street to show him his picture, but Mike's response were incredible, he ignored the dictator's picture and walked away. I wonder why they didn't have the president's picture Vladimir Putin?

You've shown the world that despite that, the people live on and are awesome with AWESOME food ! To the People of Syria , the American people do not hate you and do not wish harm on any of you we understand that people do not always get along, I wish the world was a more peaceful place. No matter how many years pass and how far we are from our original homeland, we still feel nostalgia and longing for our country, Syria
Now that I am 52 years old, I still take my wife and children to show them my house where I was born, but the last time we did not find it because the war destroyed it.

Do you know that Syria in the early twentieth century and under the ottoman empire had the third of it's population as Christians😮 , and after European christian colonization carried out by french in Syria and in Lebanon and Britain in Palestine, which decomposed the ottoman empire, now christians in Syria reduced from 33% of population to just 5%
and in Lebanon from 66% as a majority to 33%
and Palestine from 10 % before Israeli occupation 1948 to less than 2% of the population.
Do you know before American occupation of Iraq 2003 the christians were 4 times their number now😮?
Christians were 25% of all Arab region population in the early 20th century and under the ottoman empire, now christians are just 5% of the Arab region population 😮.
That proves strongly the christians lived much better under Islam empires for 1300 years , and their matters deteriorated only after European christian colonization and american infringement in the region 😮😮😢😮
