Started off with a bit of easy moorland walking today. It was cool to start off but warmed up a little, though not too much, making it good walking weather.
I had a scare while approaching the Limestone Pavement when several young calves came running towards me. As it happened there were two fell ponies in with the calves who proceeded to run through the calves and then veer away behind me before stopping. The calves thought they were more fun than me and thankfully followed them rather than continue running straight at me. Phew was I relieved!! I was so grateful to those ponies for distracting the calves. They still all followed me to the gate at the end of the field, but they were only walking which wasn’t so bad. I must admit I was glad to get through the gate. I had several more fields of cows to go through today, but none of the others worried me.
Walked down to the footbridge by the ford to see Rutter Force, mill and water wheel, which is very pretty, then the route took me along a beck, crossing it a few times.
Ended my walk at Appleby Tourist Information Centre, where I signed their book and received a certificate.
Not much elevation today and mainly farmland so an easy end to the Dales High Way.
    13.81 miles.

Thank you Kevin. It's good to know you've watched all my videos and I'm glad you enjoyed them. It's not a bad walk is it, apart from all the cows!! haha.

Loved the videos - so many times when I thought "We sat there for lunch!" or "I remember crossing that bridge!" Looking forward to your next adventure.

Glad you've enjoyed my videos Richard. It's nice when you recognise places you've visited yourself. I'm hoping to walk the Herriot Way later this year.
