Honestly *Piri Piri chicken* is without a doubt one of the best ways to have this versatile ingredient. In my recipe you learn how it stays moist and juicy on the inside, while cooked to perfection with crispy skin! You can hear the crackling on my video. I hope you make it and let me know here in the comments how it went 🤗
I grow up with Portuguese ppl and I do t remember having this chicken in anyones house.....we had chicken or pork marinade in vino Verde, lemon, red pepper flakes, bay leaf etc and it was bbq'd and delicious
For me, this is what really resembles the peri peri chicken I know from southern africa and Mozambique. Love it and made it already 3 times😋. Oven and Braai/BBQ. Better than Nando's! I did replace some of the chillies with peeled red sweet peppers and added a bit of south african peri peri spice! Thank you for sharing!
@@bandile21 the plant used to do the piri-piri is original from central/south america... introduced in Africa by the portuguese... even Nando's a famous restaurant in South Africa by doing this recipe says that is a portuguese recipe... if u search in the internet u will see the origin of this recipe: Portugal. Pabs Kitchen Hi again Yes tried it out tonight, fantastic lovely taste, doing again tomorrow, trouble is it rained tonight so no bbq, oven/grill job, still well tasty, hopefully no rain tomorrow so bbq is gonna get lit up, thanks again👍👍👍
Hi H Man, Iam really glad that you like it, thank you. You might like to check it out my other recipe of "original Piri Piri sauce" if you love Piri Piri sauce. Just stoped raining in Lisbon today. Yes, rain is not good for bbq but you can still cook indoor in ovan it was really nice when I made it in the Ovan. Wish you a sunny day tomorrow and you can enjoy bbq😋 :). Pabs
Pabs Kitchen Yes , please send me recipe for your other piri piri sauce, have you ever been to marufos chicken restaurant near Vilamoura, quarteira , wow what a chicken place that is also, i love Portugal, cant wait to get back there👍👍👍😎recipe please👍
@@Hammertime054 here you have the link th-cam.com/video/EZHqsBvmmlM/w-d-xo.html this a slow cook Piri Piri sauce in the very traditional and original way, after you make it you can use the sauce to your taste and you can add other spices to give more flavor to the dish your cooking. Check it out and let me know what do you think, I also have some suggestions on my channel using this sauce, like on prawns and chicken drumsticks ;) I haven´t been that place yet, now I know I will look for it... thank you very much.

It depends where you live for the price to do business. I use very basic ingredients so then you can make it easily, it's available mostly every spices shop or food market. I hope it help:)
A restaurant chef once told me that he always loosens the skin and puts the PiriPiri sauce directly onto the meat, as well as the skin. Also, regarding peppers: green peppers have practically no nutritional value as opposed to when they are ripe and full of nutrition.
Hi Darian, thank you so much for your comment and watching my recipe. Yes if we use the PiriPiri sauce directly onto the meat and the skin, the sauce has more chances to absorb in the meat. I actually Iike to put all over and comes out so tasty. About the green chillies we harvest them before they get nutrition by nature so they are less nutritious than red one but I love green Chili too because they are less sweet and more bitter flavour which we use alot in Asian cuisine. But to make the Piri Piri sauce, always red is the best. Thank you so much
Peri chili is native to Africa but when we took our slaves and seeds back home we took credit for it. Similar to grandmas recipe,i watched but still do it Grammy style🖒🖒
A little odd... usually would spachcock by removing the backbone... not splitting the breast. Can't help but to think that removing the back is better than splitting the already dry-prone breast. Good video, though..
I agree. Always split along the back, but do not remove it. That backbone is some good eating along with the neck! Or at least cook it underneath the bird so it is not wasted. My favorite chicken parts are the neck, back pieces and tail. Lol!

Ooh you are too use getting cleaned bleached ch chicken from the AC markets. Live a day at the farm. Damn
Too much talking in the beginning
Darling. Give credit where credit is due. Peri Peri originates from AFRICA. Mozambique. Not Portugal. 🥴🥴🥴

Chillies come originally from South America. Portuguese took it to Afrika. It's both African and Portuguese.
That is a long way from authentic. To start with poussin are used and the sauce is oil and herbs. Ffs get it right. Obrigado
