In Portugal, when you went to the restaurant "O Rei dos frangos" in the city of Guya, you didn't expect to be given a pass or to save time in the hour-long queue. So happy to see you in Portugal, Mark!! Frango de churrasco is one of my favorite foods, hope you enjoyed it as much as I do! I have been following you for years and this video was such a treat 😁
Great video! Thank you Mark for several reasons: 1. This wasn't about ordering 50 plates of food and see how you can munch away as much as possible. 2. You chose humble, simple but delicious food that anyone can afford. 3. For putting, once again Portugal on the food map! I have lived in Portugal for almost 6 years, speak the language fluently, skipped only 1 year to date that I didn't visit Portugal since 1994, and it is my favourite country in terms of food (and wines, don't forget about those please). Nowadays, living in Holland again, I always go to Lisbon for my birthday and in summer for a holiday (usually the North) and in terms of food, it is very hard to beat. Sure, I go to Italy for work at least 3 times a year, and I do enjoy it there, but the Portuguese have something special. No other country I have visited, has restaurants that offer fresh grilled fish and meat every day, in simple traditional restaurants where Mum cooks and Dad serves the food. Next time you intend to visit Portugal, please consult me, because you are yet to try Porco Preto or Salchichas Frescas or Moeleas Estufados, and frankly speaking, apart from the grilled fishes, they are as much signature dishes as is the Frango Assado. Saúde Mark! Cheers!

Hi Mark.I love Portuguese rice and the baked potatoes. The chicken is amazing too.I live in Canada and there are lots of Portuguese restaurants here.Amazing videos.❤❤
Simple marinade (oil/olive oil, 2 or 3 smashed garlic bits, some smoked paprika powder, salt), use a gentle quantity of real wooden charcoal, let it burn for 5 to 10min, letting the flames go to extreme heat, let the charcoal loose their blackeness and then grill the chicken without any flame to do a slow grilled meat (at about one hand of distance from the heat. Keep turning the chicken peaces. Sauce during grill or after. Simple but perfect. Cheers from Lisbon
By the end you got it, the acidity in Portuguese salads comes from white wine vinegar. We always mix olive oil and vinegar for dressing a salad. Another aspect piri-piri chicken is Portuguese fast food! No wonder people choose it after coming from the beach, nobody wants to cook, so the cheapest and quickest is Frango de Churrasco. Loved your series! Cheers
I don't think we can compare the level of spiciness between Asia and Western food. There isn't a single drop of sweat coming from Mark :) This could be just a "baby" food for him. Great video as always. Thank you Mark.

After coming to Portugal for the first time, I had the best of time eating Portuguese food and theres no place that match the deliciousness of their cuisine. It ruined my cravings because I usually look for Portuguese food but nothing like its deliciousness compared to living here in Macau lol
I Know Churrascaria Rio de Mel, close to where i used to live in the past. The guy cutting and packing the chicken has been there for ages, he is the owner if i recall, and the lady is still the same. Really great piri-piri chicken in fact! Love you channel Mark.

You should have gone to Mozambican Chiveve Restaurant in Lisbon, they have the very best chicken in Portugal. It's called Zambeze Chicken and it's marinated with garlic, lemon juice, gloves, piri-piri and coconut milk. The marinade is then turned into sauce, which is served with the grilled chicken.

Restaurant so busy and popular they didn't know Mark entered their Restaurant. 😅😮. When they see the video they do right. 😂
It blows my mind how Micah is so big now. Time flies by so fast. And another great food video from mark wiens. Thumbs up. 👍🏿
That food looks yummy...great review Mark 👍🏾
Hi Mark.I love Portuguese rice and the baked potatoes. The chicken is amazing too.I live in Canada and there are lots of Portuguese restaurants here.Amazing videos.❤❤
I have a drive through Nandos less than 400 meters away, but nothing quite beats doing a spicy chicken on the grill at home yourself.
Nandos originated from Joburg, South Africa back in the 80's😉
Simple marinade (oil/olive oil, 2 or 3 smashed garlic bits, some smoked paprika powder, salt), use a gentle quantity of real wooden charcoal, let it burn for 5 to 10min, letting the flames go to extreme heat, let the charcoal loose their blackeness and then grill the chicken without any flame to do a slow grilled meat (at about one hand of distance from the heat. Keep turning the chicken peaces. Sauce during grill or after. Simple but perfect. Cheers from Lisbon
I loved your reaction in PORTO... chicken and ribs looked very tasty.
finally portugal! 🤩😍

Good morning, I just love how you let us know about the history of the place and food that you eat 🙏🏿
I'm from Portugal, and let me say, you went on the best Guia Chicken's of Algarve!!! Ramires is just SOO DELICIOUS....and that Tomato salad so simple, but so good as well!!! Loving your videos MARK
All of the graphics showing the history of the piri piri was so cool!
Woah this is my first time I got to watch Mark's NEWLY uploaded video. 🥰
My favorite spot for frango is Churrasqueira Valdemar in Silves. Whenever I'm in Portugal I just need to go there
Every time you say "it's not that spicy" I feel my tongue burning 🥵🥵🥵 all the way here in South Africa 🇿🇦 your spice level is 🥵💥💥
Mark, I am from Angola and I live in Toronto. I just want to thank you for all those amazing videos and food that you are tasting out there.
When you get back to Lisbon you must try Principe do Calhariz near Bairro Alto. Thats the best chicken I have been going there for over 40 years.
you make the history of chilis sound so cool with your tone and pictures 😃
Some people connects the piri piri chicken with mozambique or south africa. But is really from portugal. Thank you for all this videos hilighting one of the best food countries and still underrated.
I love the 2 guys they will never start their day without a cold glass of beer 🍺
Feeling blue? Just catch a glimpse of Mark Weins and watch your troubles disappear! 💙
I love that you love what you do Mark. Just makes sure to take care yourself ❤ all this food is good but can be hard on your heart and nervous system. Take care.
O Recif churrasqueira à Faro Portugal, c'est là où j'ai mangé le meilleur poulet 🐓 au barbecue.
Thanks!
can you help me
If you are ever able, the 1st Weekend of August New Bedford, MA, USA has the biggest Portuguese Feast in the World, (Madeira Feast). You will be in heaven, huge fire pit, Madeira Wine, Malassadas, and tons of Grandma food. It screams Mark Wiens.
Yes , go to the USA to experience Portuguese food 😂🤡
@@SenorFischmann You weird as hell
😂🤡
Good Enough for Bourdain jackass@@SenorFischmann
@@SenorFischmann Why not? I'm portuguese and am mighty curious. Emigrants tend to preserve traditions fiercely.
You went to my hometown Guia! Glad you enjoyed the food! 😁
Just noticed you also went to Recife in Faro, also went there frequently because it was close to work 😆
Hands down for Teodosio, the best piri piri I’ve ever had 💥
muito bom Mark,de volta a Portugal
You should have gone to Mozambican Chiveve Restaurant in Lisbon, they have the very best chicken in Portugal. It's called Zambeze Chicken and it's marinated with garlic, lemon juice, gloves, piri-piri and coconut milk. The marinade is then turned into sauce, which is served with the grilled chicken.
Comment below if you all think Mark says "Oh Wow" while hitting it from the back, eyes all rolling back and all...😂😂😂😂
Hello Mark I pray you and your family have a bless weekend I know that food was good So GLad to See Son and beautiful wife enjoy ALL OF YOUR VoLG been watching your VoLG for years ❤
Mark, did you know you have 4 million more subscribers than Andrea Bocelli?
Mark, seeing this video I could barely contain myself to get on a plane from the Netherlands to Portugal to eat there! 😂 We were in the Algarve last year and also ate at Ramires. And I can vouch for their chicken. It is excellent. Years back I was at a bbq in Portugal where they had marinated the chicken in piri-piri! The skin was spicy, but also the chicken itself. You would’ve loved it. Unfortunately that place is no longer there…
Thanks for this video and the fond memories it brings back. Love your video’s as always.
Does Mica enjoy traveling and trying all of the different foods? I love that he gets to have such awesome experiences at his age🫶🏾.
Mark, you didn't do the pro move and eat the chicken with the actual piri piri pepper itself. I was waiting for you to do so!!! Lol!
LOVED this episode!!!! PLEASE next time you are in Peru, please do a video of the best and ultimate pollo alla Brasa places; i think it could be as amazing as this video!!!!!! cheers!!!!
Say "piri piri" one more time!!!
I come back here every time for the facial expressions. Me and dad love your show! Thanks again for the great content. Love from Australia 🇦🇺
