This video will explain the steps to register with GMC and if you will need to give PLAB or not. I have taken a step further to highlight the options available after registering with GMC. I am Dr. Ishita Mondal, MBBS graduate in the year of 2020 from India.
Currently I am working as a Resident Medical Officer in Kolkata, West Bengal, India. I will be moving to London in August’22.
In parallel, I am planning to appear for PLAB (Part A) examination in 2023 and taking preparation for the same. I have few queries regarding PLAB and GMC to start my career at UK (London).
It would be really helpful, if you can kindly clarify the queries below:
• Can I work having dependent VISA as a doctor in London, whereas my husband will be holding ICT Tier2 skilled work VISA (LT)
• Can I get any jobs in London as a MBBS graduate with only English test certification till I clear PLAB (both part A & part B) and get the GMC registration number? If yes, then how to start searching

it’s big topic . I will try to make new video on that. Salary varies. Junior doctors starting salary could be around £25K and then with years it keeps increasing . Final salary depends on your work hours, type of work etc. Could be £80K - £150K. Or for some even more if they have good private practice / extra work. It’s complex topic . Not a straight answer.
