I saw Dj Dan on four tables doing an all James Brown set.. He brought the house down. It was in Taughton Massachusetts @ an old dog racing track under the bleachers...AWESOME.
Seeing these three guys back to back to back is amazing. Back in the day they all came through toronto but all in different house scenes. Marquess r’nb ritual deep house parties , doc at industry and dan the ravers favorite house dj at dose/lifeforce parties . I hit them all !!!!!
man I have been seeing dj dan since the 90's and he has been tearing down true pioneer one of the people who made the music it is today much love to Dan for keeping it real and never falling off to this edm bullshit you here today house music all night long!!!!
These three spinning sick ass beats brings back memories going to the right record shop to get the direction to the underground parties paying 20 bucks and gathering in some warehouse in the middle of nowhere to dance all night fried on blotter and x
DJ DAN AND DOC MARTIN INSIDE THE PLACE. A couple of legends that have been in the game since the golden era. Mass props to these 2 individuals! Glad to see MIXMAG actually bringing some talent, and blowing BR out of the water. Keep it classic.
+thedjartillery Doc Martin was DJing before the golden era. He was already DJing before the first house records came out, before the wicked crew was Tonka. \
i have no words. i would just be pointing. i love love love them, and Dj Dan ended with taking me to my final destination and i agree that it was a perfect combination. God bless you guys.
Big love from DC ! Saw Doc the first time in 94. Think Capital Ball Room ,DC. DJ Dan ....Fever Baltimore 95. Those were the days and still goin to see them when i can ! Never got a chance to see Wyatt...well i may have been at the same party but had cassette's with his name on it 😉 REAL SOUND FOR LIFE ! ONE LOVE Y'ALL !
+thedjartillery cause of these dudes I started djing, Doc was first dj I saw, check me out dude, soundcloud.com/mrwhitefunk Only replied to you not spamming my shit lol
I give props to all 3 of these DJ but my favorite is gonna have to be DJ Dan why because his mixing and style of music that his playing.for real clean mixing and dope House music. Doc Martin is also a legend I remember being at Narnia in 1994 the Rave,it was at the Orange show in San Bernardino.it was dope especially on" Acid" I remember our ride leaving early because of work the next day and my ex and me ended up staying till it was over and ended up running into some friends from Westminster CA our city.the experience was fun and worth it TY DOC Martin from the memories.
Pretty sure I already said this but, ohh Boy, legendary and important for the house beats in this mix to be imprinted onto your section of the brain that deals with house music and understanding what HOUSE MUSIC really is. And yes, they indeed all 3 killed it, but Dan, like yo, wut is that? Whats that DAN sound? Thats exactly "it" on that section..he does it, he presented u with those particular house sounds. It was captured here. authentic sounds of what we call "House Music" from earlier raving days. Respect to Doc and Mr. Wyatt obviously for their abilities, their ear(s) for unique/beautiful sounds and willingness to bring it to us, all day and night. I like that its not even crowded where they were. Room even to be a bit sloppy but dance-able right?
Mmmmm. So happy to have been a part of bringing these gentlemen (amongst many others) out to Maui at various times during the 90's. Marques Wyatt played with Dee-Lite's Supa DJ Dmitri at an outdoor party at Maui Raceway Park called Bounce 3 (our production), DJ Dan played with Graeme at an outdoor party at Nakalele Point on North West Maui (A close friend's production) and finally Doc played in The Green Room in Kihei (A Galaxy 2000 party). Big shout to these guys and those keeping the underground alive!
Saw DJ Dan in 1995 in Toronto. Looking forward to seeing him again in Ottawa in December. very good stuff. Very cool to hear tune/samples at 1:48:00 - 1:54:00
Really wish the new sort would watch Dan and take notes. Still a style indicative of vinyl. Very pure beat mixing and phasing. You don't need to mash 20 songs into 5 mins ( gross exaggeration). Let the song do the work for you.
After loving him and Bad Boy Bill, Felix da House Cat and Charles Feelgood to name a few, since I was 20yrs old, I finally saw him live in San Francisco back on September 14, 2019. It only took me 20 years to get a chance to finally see him and it was great!
Kaylie Gordon went to a strictly vinyl party about 3 years ago in Denver. Dan killed it as you might guess. Coffin bumps, records skipping, pure love, like old times.. wow
