I would have to agree with you. The atlas was my second 1/10 scale crawler and it does have some short comings right out of the box, but for the price, it’s really hard to beat. The shocks are horrible and the stock esc is really jumpy as in no slow control. After those are addressed it does really really well and is very durable. I’m still running the stock motor but about everything else has been upgraded. As far as esc, the hobbywing 1060 for $20 makes it 100% more controllable and the 1080 for $40 is even better.

The HobbyWing Fusion SE 1200 has made thing drive like a dream

@@RCLifeChoseMe I just ordered a HW fusion for mine. Never ran a fusion system before, time to give it a try.

@@NEO-RC You wont regret it. Only annoying part is the gearbox is bolted to the motor, but its pretty easy to swap out. Just be careful not to strip the hexes like I did.

@@RCLifeChoseMe yeah that’s one reason I was hesitant. Didn’t really want to tear into the gearbox/transmission and was concerned maybe even a unsure if gearing change was needed. I have zero knowledge on gear ratios but for now I’ll leave the gears stock and see how It does. Thanks! I’ll make sure to be careful with the hex screws when swapping motors? 👍

@@RCLifeChoseMe installed the HW Fusion SE in my atlas 4x4 and tested it this morning. Awesome! So smooth.
Gave your channel a shout out on my channel. Thanks again!

Great Truck, I also own an Atlas (heavenly modified) and it is my favorite rc crawler.
    Thank You, Gary.
P.S. I subed to your channel.

I appreciate the sub! And Atlas ia still my favorite as well. We'll see if it stays #1 after I get an FCX10

I moved winch on mine furthest to the front that I could. 2 front winch bolts are near the black edge. Closer to the license plate area

My esc burned out after the first major use but it's a beast at crawling

Spray some wd40 on the sticker residue and let it dissolve it then wipe off with a soft cloth 👍

will try that next time. I ended up learning the hard way that goo-gone and acetone are NOT a good idea on these. ended up having to cut out a damaged window.

I have a Atlas 4x4 and I think it's just for beginners, very disappointed with it. Shocks are to small (60mm) the front bumper sticks out way to much, the steering is horrible. My reciever, ESC & steering servo all went bad. Not to mention the battery space is very limited. To much to do with it. I got a Hobbywing 1080 ESC, Dumborc transmitter and reciever & a 35kg steering servo. Works better, but steering still sucks. Gonna sell mine for $165.00 or best offer.

...and the shoe was never seen again. Rip shoe.
My Atlas will power up and over things that choke my SCX 10 II Deadbolt. It needs better shocks and tires off the rack though. I cobbled some TRX4 shocks onto it, along with better tires and steel wheels.

I forgot to add the first mod was a 1080. The stock 1040 was terrible.

Surprisingly the shoe did survive, but it was hard to dig out. Yeah my Atlas outperforms my SCX10 Gladiator all day. steel beadlocks and predator Hyrax's went a long way. No regrets on the HobbyWing Fusion 1200

I just wish FMS had more 1/10 scales with comparable performance
