  • The Rudyard Lake steam Railway held their annual Steam Gala on the 19th and 20th September 2015. I had planned to be there for both days of the event but circumstances once again dictated that I only managed to be there on the Saturday.
Waverley,Victoria, King Arthur,Excalibur,Merlin and Pendragon were joined by Glen Auldyn,Ferret and Frances for a intensive timetable of Passenger and Goods trains throughout the day.
Many thanks to everyone involved with the event for a thoroughly enjoyable day.

Wonderful video. It's a lovely railway in a lovely setting, and a credit to the folks that have made it that way. Long may it continue, it would be a tragedy to lose it, I always enjoyed my visits there.

This was the last gala for the Rudyard Lake Steam Railway. It is still for sale and a possible buyer has been in discussions for many months. Its hoped that a sale may be concluded and the railway continue and expand with a different name but if not scheduled services will finish at the end on November this year

Very nice video as usual Tommy. Up to standard. I must visit this nice little railway one day but the National Lottery won't let me (yet).Regards, Pete.

Good to see this nice little line again. I'd read that it was for sale, I don't know if it still is?
