Leek & Rudyard Railway: The Journey So Far

  • Join me on a trip down memory lane.
The journey starts back in 2010 when I came across a video by Ian Burgess, showing a snow covered lakeside with a train full of families, watching Santa go by on a boat on Rudyard Lake. I thought it looked so good, I had to pay a visit - which I did on 23rd May 2010, and have returned on a regular basis for the past 13 years.
With the owner's decision to retire and put the railway up for sale, and all the uncertainty that comes with it, I decided to put together this video showing a few minutes action from each of the years I've been there. I can't thank everyone at the LRR enough for making me feel very much a part of things there. We certainly had some laughs and fun along the way. I sincerely hope the railway carries on delighting families with trips alongside the lake for a long time to come.

Fully agree with your comments, it would be a great shame to lose this wonderful little railway, I hope a new buyer comes forward and realises just what a gem it is.

We will have to wait and see what happens. Would be a sad day to see it disappear after all the hard work the volunteers put in over the years.

@@mollsmyreI am hoping for the best too. It is one of my favourite narrow gauge/miniature railways.
