Thanks for the kind words and prediction. I’m not so sure it will explode but I am just enjoying the time r the reef with my mates for now. Cheers Legend 😀
Brother!!! After watching the scenes of that day, im spewing i had to work haha, so glad the three of you had such a blast & caught some incredible fish! What a crew
Epic session bro! Congrats on bringing in a huge wrasse, with a successful release. Challenging conditions for the spearing session but you guys still had massive success. So good!
question: why not use the spotlock on those drops? I'm an avid bottom fisherman in the states and if there is good life on a peice, it doesnt make much sense to keep drifting or trying to hover in the current - drifting sometimes helps to find spots but once youve found them, spotlock!
Hey mate the reason why I drift is I cover more ground. Sometimes fish are all around a particular mark depending on current and tides. When you spot lock with strong current your lines can keep drifting away from the boat and your line ends up on a 45 degree angle or more and you need to keep letting line out. By driving and reversing with the current I keep my line’s vertical and I find this is the most successful method for me. On low current days or tide change, if fish are concentrated then spot lock can be handy.
@@johnnychowjc makes sense... my fix for the big currents to combat being scoped out would be more weight, but whatever works! You clearly know what you're doing down under. I used to do a lot of hovering over structure in reverese on my GW257...just like you did until i got my spotlock motor. You could also set the trolling motor to autopilot but the engine is probably easier to control. I saw that little ravine of fish on your sounder and i would have spotlocked on that bugger in a hot second lol, and used whatever lead it took to stay vertical! Love your stuff man.
Nice video Johny as always good day out❤ also those table top corals can hold up to 10 crays sometimes, nice footy trout I shot a 69cm a few days ago unfortunately I didn't take my GoPro out haha I can't focus when filming 😂 ..keep it up Bud deadly videos 👍
Hey Lindsay, I don’t have the joystick as I use my minn kota for spot lock feature. I have the Yamaha autopilot feature if it works very well. It auto adjusts and very responsive.
Awesome Johnny - your channel will explode soon it's only a matter of time.
