Berserkers are an absolute cheat code for bottom bashing!!! A must have in the tackle box, weeds out the smaller models and gives you you’re best shot at that trophy red 😍 (my opinion anyways)

Great Episode Johnny!!! You have to be the nicest fisherman in QLD - if someone dropped my rod and reel in the water like that I would have had him clean the entire boat on recovery.
Haha thanks mate! When you are fishing with friends accidents happen so I can’t get to upset. 😜 dropping a rod in the water is the least of my issues. Something with the boat, trailer or engine usually plays up each month. They rotate and take turns on what decides to breakdown! Haha
I was about to agree with you being the nicest fisherman in Qld before I’ve even watched the video! Hearing what’s happened just seconds that you are ! As a seasoned fisherman, accidents do happen an sometimes others learn as adults while others learnt as kids ect

Another great video Johnny! Quick question. If you couldn't afford a stella 14000 reel, would you match your venom rod with a 14000 Saragosa? Or do you have any suggestions for a cheaper version of the Stella to match with the venom rod? Thanks Kym
@kymsteinhardt1063 for my 2 cents.. the saragosa is awesome and very tough and last forever.. the Berings are cheaper and just as good as the high end reels

Yeah they work well on all species. Kingfish, snapper and I even got a big humpheaded Maori wrasse recently.

It looks like you know how to pick the weather window. Is 5 - 10 knots and 07. - 0.8m swells 8 - 10 secs apart too much to ask. What do you call acceptable weather?
Cheers mate, that sounds like reasonable boating weather. I generally try not to go offshore in more than 10knots, because if the weather man gets it wrong it can be pretty uncomfortable.
