Maya's storyline in Next Class after season 2 was so heartbreaking to watch but I really enjoyed how they did it. I wish the show had more seasons. It was crazy how many parallels there were between her and Cam from when he committed suicide to when she tried doing it herself
there’s an episode in season 3 where zig is talking to maya & says “well everyone gets sad sometimes” & maya responds “it’s not sometimes it’s all the time” which is the exact same thing cam said to her in season 12 of next gen

I’ve been watching Degrassi since I was 10 years old and I still love it I am 21 just finished watching Degrassi next class for the second time on Netflix I might just watch it all over again and what I mean by all over again I might watch Degrassi next generation from season one to season 14 and then watch Degrassi next class from season one to season four again I love Degrassi. It is really made me who I am it is help me grow and I love it so much I relate to a lot of the characters in the show and I love that they made a show that can relate to a lot of people

It's about suicide. The lines "it's my last exit to freedom, my last chance to be free" and "a light only i can see". Many suicidal people feel like suicide will make all their problems go away, and that it's the only out they have. Suicide is the only way they can be "free"
I don't think anyone necessarily wants to commit suicide. They just don't want to hurt anymore.
it could be interpreted many different ways but when maya wrote this she wrote it from a suicidal perspective. the lines are about her killing herself and being free and happy away from this world

This so g spoke volumes to me. I had to recover because I thought freedom was leaving the Earth. But it isn't. Freedom means being truly happy in your own skin. It means being happy with who you see in the mirror. I love this show and I wish everyday it hadn't gone away

Heard this song at the graduation finale of Degrassi & it made me cry with overwhelming emotions dwelling in my mind. I've never been a Degrassi watcher but I've been fond of this casting group, it's just a little emotional to come to terms so soon! I was not ready!But with all honesty, it was amazing to watch Mya overcome her struggles, Miles achieving his goals/dreams, Zoe conquering her inner demons etc. I loved every second of it & always will.
