I was broken when JT died. Cam and Adam death took me by surprised. It’s crazy how characters make you feel like you’re really losing your friends in real life. This is why I will always love this show no matter what because it was able to talk about hard topics and situations. Things that adults didn’t know we went through because they believed that we didn’t have problems in our life.

yeah kc made me so mad he was probably one of my least faves but for some reason his departure makes me incredibly sad :( he brought some amazing storylines to the show.

I LOVE that they used the song Unwritten for the graduation episode. They could not have picked a more perfect song and it's still one of my favorites today. Drew's acting in the scene where he finds out Adam died is great but for me Dallas steals the scene, he conveyed the look of shock so perfectly, the way he backed out of the door watching his friend's family go through the most painful moment of their life made it feel more real. He was one of the best actors in Degrassi history in my opinion and the second scene of his breakdown seals that opinion for me. I kind of wish he could have been on the show longer so we could have seen him go through his girlfriend getting pregnant and adjusting to fatherhood.

At my high school, we weren’t allowed to acknowledge death. A friend unalived himself. I didn’t know until I heard it from a teacher in class and she actually said to us “but, we have to move on. We can’t dwell. Let’s open our books”. DWELL?! We just found out!
Yeah in my school we had kids come and go constantly it was a Christian school that a lot of "last chance" kids were sent to. Years later my dad who was the president of the board said they would cover up kids suicides everytime, and he told me one of the kids in my friend group was one of them though he couldn't remember who. So now I always wonder which of my friends I lost touch with could it have been.
The episodes introducing craig and his father always make me sad. And the one where craig is at ashleys fathers wedding. Where he breaks down are so sad. Everytime i watch craig I see a little of myself in him. I always connected with craig when I was a kid so seeing him doing cocaine and all that bullshit sucks but it was good that he redeemed himself at the end and got sober.
The earlier seasons defo had a lot of hard-hitting moments, its just the acting and production was worse and more awkward. Yes, I'm saying the later seasons had better actors but also I think that's large part in due to the progression of the entertainment industry throughout the years, not solely on the actors' skill.
i respect your opinion. but i believe many of those moments were *supposed* to be emotional and hard-hitting, but weren't. because the execution was poorly done in terms of acting and production. and those two things make or break a storyline if not done right. but specifically, S12-S14 really hit the mark in terms of not only giving an emotional plot, but amazing execution and acting. a serious storyline that's done awkwardly and poorly just isn't emotional for me at all, which is why i don't believe earlier seasons had hard-hitting moments. now that i finished the vid i think cam's death really did hit me the hardest. i know that adam and JT are contenders for such moments but i personally look back at those moments as shock value. i might've bawled my eyes out at the time, but cam was another story man. his story actually had a message. it was actually built up, with twists, and peaks that really could've steered the audience in different directions. one moment gives us hope, and the other makes us wish he was simply happy. his character had fantastic back and forth and that's something i will always prefer over JT and Adam's deaths, which were so sudden and nonsensically rushed that i just can't really look back on them and cry about it. and of course the fact that the aftermath actually had STORY, as in, people's reactions, drama, maya's character turning around, and other factors like Eli starting to use drugs because of it (showing us that even those that weren't close to cam can be affected), just makes it even more bittersweet. im actually really glad with how it's written. cam's character feels complete, and intentional for everything that comes next.

Cam’s depress is still there and indirectly Zig did look like he was taking advantage of his closeness with Maya as her friend to try to win her over. When you are depress you don’t want to mention it to family. You don’t want to worry them. Be annoying or a nuisance. I felt what Cam did because I was experiencing it at the time his story arc was happening. When he died, it hurt a lot. I felt like I lost a true friend 😢 Cam’s story arc was that impactful 🥺😭😭😭😭😭😭 I still not over it. I would have prefer Zig and Maya not end up together and drift apart. That would have been more realistic. Zig did not just indirectly destroy Maya and Cam’s relationship but constantly interfered with Maya and Miles later on. Instead of calling Zig out she gets mad at Miles. Which granted Miles wasn’t at his greatest moments either but Zig did instigate things until smiles snap and Maya didn’t seem to hold him accountable.
Adam reminds me a lot of my brother and around the time those episodes came out a friend of mine had just passed away so those scenes really hit me hard.
I haven't watched any of these episodes since my cousin and friend passed away in the same year. They were great guys who I will miss and love always. ❤️ thank you for reminding me even those who aren't here, it's ok to remember and miss them. God bless everyone.
Believe it or not I got emotional on the Rick Murray time stands still episodes because he was such a good actor I felt the sadness of being an actual loner. I always felt like a loner, and he did a fantastic job portraying being misunderstood on screen. The end of time stands still where he looks at the gun and breaks the forth wall still sends chills threw me.

I started watching when season 12 ended and watched seasons 13 and 14 as they aired and inbetween seasons, i went back and watched season 10 to 14.. I still remember watching that scene when drew and dallas find out adam didnt make it... And I will never get over adams death. His death was the first character death i vividly remember, ever. And going back to the previous season, cams death hurt my heart. I didnt understand mayas character and why she was so distraught when it came to miles. But watching cams season made me realize WHY. And how much his death affected her, even though she doesnt say or clearly show it.. Claires break down about her baby, was also the first time id seen someone experience a miscarriage on tv. And it still is so heartbreaking to watch.
Claire and Eli had gone through so much together too. From when they first met and got together to her cancer to finding out she can’t have kids as result of the chemo to them finally getting the happy ending and miracle baby only for her to loose it. But what I loved about Degrassi is they covered different angels of teen pregnancy. Liberty and JT gave their baby up at birth. Jenna and KC tried to hard to be good parents to Tyson but being 16 and trying to be a teen and school plus parenthood they gave baby up few months later to Claire miscarrying. Can’t remember if they touched on abortion or not but the show was great had very real issues teens face and covered it very well
I can relaye to Dallas in the Adam death scene. I was at a friend's house when he found out his sister died. I knew and liked her a lot, but i knew this was a time for their family and not for me. I eased my way out the front door and cried a little on the drive home. He called me the next day and apologized for not noticing me leave, but thanked me for giving his family space. Sometimes you just know that a moment isn't for you.
Season 13 was the first season I watched as it aired so adams death really hit hard for me, it was after season 13 I started back tracking and watching season 12, then seeing cams death, and I finally understood mayas character a little more, then with season 11, and 10. I didn’t watch the entire show from start to finish until after next class ended. But when I did, I fell inlove with degrassi as a whole. And the last 3 graduating classes will always be my favorite. So now everytime I rewatch degrassi, Cams and adams death always hit a little harder than Jt, though Jts death was very sad. That hospital scene when drew finds out Adam didn’t make it, BROKE me. And Clare and Eli losing the baby was so heartbreaking, I cry everytime.

Dumb things Degrassi did decide to kill off Adam wrote kc out of the show kill clarie baby I believe they would have been good parents didn't give Kendra a good storyline forgot about toby made spinner and Emma get together Killed cam he could have gone home but the writer decide to kill him and worse thing ever did to me is they made Fiona and imogen break up I shipped them so hard (I didn't put jt cause the actor wanted to leave)

It's sad but with Cam they wanted a suicide storyline, they knew from the start that's what his story would be andthe actor knew too, just didn't know when it would happen :( I'm glad they can write about stuff like that because it happens in the real world and everybody does cope differently, but of course it sucks losing Cam because he was such a sweet and sensitive character :( But the longer he would've stayed, I suppose the harder it would've been to accept his end...

I followed degrading and the writing was so good, when they killed off JC I just as broken but stayed. When they killed off ADAM, that was it for me. I couldn’t watch anymore of the new episodes. It was just too much for me as a queer and sensitive person. I couldn’t deal with both of my comfort characters dying before they even reached college

I don't know why, but I started crying about Clare's miscarriage. Jts was so sudden cause his actor wanted to leave the show and he didn’t want his character to be able to come back so they killed him off.

Believe it or not I got emotional on the Rick Murray time stands still episodes because he was such a good actor I felt the sadness of being an actual loner. I always felt like a loner, and he did a fantastic job portraying being misunderstood on screen. The end of time stands still where he looks at the gun and breaks the forth wall still sends chills threw me.
Exactly his happiness when he finally had friends and then he was painted and feathered. I understood why he felt the need for the gun

I started watching when season 12 ended and watched seasons 13 and 14 as they aired and inbetween seasons, i went back and watched season 10 to 14.. I still remember watching that scene when drew and dallas find out adam didnt make it... And I will never get over adams death. His death was the first character death i vividly remember, ever. And going back to the previous season, cams death hurt my heart. I didnt understand mayas character and why she was so distraught when it came to miles. But watching cams season made me realize WHY. And how much his death affected her, even though she doesnt say or clearly show it.. Claires break down about her baby, was also the first time id seen someone experience a miscarriage on tv. And it still is so heartbreaking to watch.
Claire and Eli had gone through so much together too. From when they first met and got together to her cancer to finding out she can’t have kids as result of the chemo to them finally getting the happy ending and miracle baby only for her to loose it. But what I loved about Degrassi is they covered different angels of teen pregnancy. Liberty and JT gave their baby up at birth. Jenna and KC tried to hard to be good parents to Tyson but being 16 and trying to be a teen and school plus parenthood they gave baby up few months later to Claire miscarrying. Can’t remember if they touched on abortion or not but the show was great had very real issues teens face and covered it very well

I can relaye to Dallas in the Adam death scene. I was at a friend's house when he found out his sister died. I knew and liked her a lot, but i knew this was a time for their family and not for me. I eased my way out the front door and cried a little on the drive home. He called me the next day and apologized for not noticing me leave, but thanked me for giving his family space. Sometimes you just know that a moment isn't for you.

And Clare and Eli losing the baby was so heartbreaking, I cry everytime.

I think that was due to her getting close with Eli and Adam while KC became closer with Connor and Dave due to being on the basketball team. Plus the Jenna/KC storyline def had a factor in it as well

I totally agree but for Adam the contract was already done and they decided not to renew it. But Degrassi wanted to have a texting and driving storyline that’s why.
It's sad but with Cam they wanted a suicide storyline, they knew from the start that's what his story would be andthe actor knew too, just didn't know when it would happen :( I'm glad they can write about stuff like that because it happens in the real world and everybody does cope differently, but of course it sucks losing Cam because he was such a sweet and sensitive character :( But the longer he would've stayed, I suppose the harder it would've been to accept his end...

I followed degrading and the writing was so good, when they killed off JC I just as broken but stayed. When they killed off ADAM, that was it for me. I couldn’t watch anymore of the new episodes. It was just too much for me as a queer and sensitive person. I couldn’t deal with both of my comfort characters dying before they even reached college

I don't know why, but I started crying about Clare's miscarriage. The fact that she overcame cancer, and then tried to get back on track only to get pregnant, but probably realized it felt like a miracle since she wasn't sure what could happen in future being a cancer survivor...only for it to be taken away from her. Idk that speaks a lot.
