I inherited my dad's tools, who was a mechanic his whole life, after he passed away from covid last November. My tools, including wrenches have always been meticulously organized. His, not so much. Some are, but most aren't. I have literal piles of wrenches in drawers. I was looking for a good diy option (especially since my channel is a diy channel). This actually looks good AND easy! If I do it and create a video, I will be sure to cite my source!

Sorry to hear about your dad’s passing. I hope you’re doing alright

@user-ov9zy7pu4s appreciate it. It's been 2 1/2 years and it hasn't gotten any easier. I get emotional every time I go to his toolbox. But I did try this organizer technique and I'm happy with the way it turned out. I did my own video on it. Made sure I sighted my source, that I got the idea from here.

I am really sorry to hear, sounds like he was really special for you, which is just the way a father/son relationship should be. I’m glad you guys were close. I’m not sure if this will be helpful, for me, I’ve found that grieving is easier if I honor them in various ways that mean something to me. So far for me: dedicated tattoo, small memorial in a wilderness spot only I know about, speaking at funeral, speaking about lost person with others to remember and share the great person they were, write a letter to the person and read it aloud alone or with someone you trust closely. I hope this helps ease some pain.

A tapered turkey baster tube is a pretty good cone for wrapping wire. 👌🏻
Been using this method for about a year and it was just gonna be until I could afford nice ones but I can’t bring myself to spend money on a problem that’s solved.
Of course with wire prices this might be more expensive than olsa tools 🤣

Came across this video a few weeks ago. I used a single coil for both my Gearwrench sets, and I'm sold! Now I'll be putting my main wrench sets into their own coils. Big time space saver for my work box

These are great. I made a few a couple years ago and love them. I just picked up a few new sets of wrenches and am planning on making a few more if I don't find anything I like more. I used a large tapered punch to coil mine last time. A spud wrench or alignment pry bar would work nicely as well.

Very nice. I'm going to try it with 1/4 inch copper tube for my bigger wrenches to 2 inch and then screw it to a piece of 1/4 inch plywood I'm already using. With the wire on smaller wrenches I'll have to figure out some way to attach it. I've seen the idea before but you showed it in a way that makes it a reasonable alternative 👍
