Yes!! I definitely need to continue, I actually just got the audiobook of The Women. I’ve heard that one is really good :) which Kristin Hannah book is your favorite and/or you’d recommend most?
I rarely read outside of the fantasy genre but you're really selling these books haha I think the Reading List is now on my TBR. Really love the colours and vibes of these spreads 💖
Thank you🥰 and haha yay!! If you’re going to read books out of your comfort genre these are good ones I hope! Let me know if you like The Reading List. It’s slower paced but how the author describes the characters’ day to day lives is so realistic, it makes it seem so real. Also I think WWII books are great even for people who don’t love historical fiction because the stories of people working in the resistance are just so incredible!!
The Great Alone wasn't really on my TBR but I love Kristin Hannah and especially The Nightingale, so family bought it for me. It was really good! I also enjoyed The Four Winds and REALLY loved The Women (her most recent). The Women would have to be up there with The Nightingale in terms of favorite book overall. Thanks for the recommendation of Beneath the Scarlet Sky - I've added it to my TBR. It sounds amazing!
Ooh I’m so glad to hear your thoughts on the other Kristin Hannah books - I actually just got The Women as an audiobook on Libby!! I’ve been in line for it for like 3 months😅 I’m so excited to read it now! So excited for you to read Beneath a Scarlet Sky too - whenever you do let me know if you like it!!
Love your videos and reading inspiration, Ana!! I bought The Nightingale & The Reading List (physical books) to read closer to the fall season. For the summer, I’ve been reading a lot of non fiction, so Im looking forward to fiction reads soon. Im finishing up a middle grade adventure series by Jennifer A. Nielsen 😊
Thank you!!☺️ so happy you have The Reading List and the Nightingale on your TBR, I hope you enjoy them as much as I did! Did you discover any good non-fiction reads this summer?
Yes! I started reading How To Know A Person by David Brooks and have been loving it. I actually started it in July 😅 but I've dragged it out to savor each chapter. I like his examples and anecdotes that he uses to describe how we can better understand people. ❤
I haven’t read The Reading List but it’s on my TBR now! I’ve been re-reading a lot of my favorite books from my childhood and teenage years so the quote “books always change as the person changes too” is very timely 😅
That quote hits so hard for sure🥹 so excited for you to check out the Reading List, I hope you enjoy it! What are some of your childhood favorites that you’ve been rereading?☺️
@@anabruns I need to start with the disclaimer that a lot of them have not held up to my younger self's high opinion 😂 I still enjoy reading them because they were special to young me, but I wouldn't recommend a lot of them. The ones I would recommend as long as the reader doesn't mind books written for a younger audience are the Septimus Heap series (the first 4 books more than the latter half of the series) by Angie Sage, and the Dealing with Dragons series by Patricia C. Wrede. They really shaped my love for fantasy as a kid! One that I mean to re-read but haven't gotten around to yet is the Inkheart trilogy by Cornelia Funke. It's one of those books-about-books, and the first one, Inkheart, was my favorite. The 2nd and 3rd books got a bit complex with a lot of characters and storylines for young-me, so I'm interested to see what I think when I re-read them all these years later!
@@ggi426 Aww that all sounds so nostalgic🥰 it's pretty funny to read your childhood favorites again as an adult - sometimes it's such a different experience haha although sometimes they feel exactly the same! I will have to check out those titles! I do enjoy YA/childrens, but it's harder to find those stories that are still written to a high quality. And Inkheart has actually been on my radar -I believe someone else mentioned in my comments a while back!! That was a series that I wanted to read when I was younger but never got around to it, maybe I can finally read it as an adult☺
I may have missed in the video but do you belong to a book club online, local? Noticed very good books your book club is reading on your list and wondered if this club is open online to others or just a local private group. Thank you for the great videos including process and what products you use! New to journals and ready to try a reading journal as an addition.
Aww thank you for your comment, so glad you enjoy the videos☺️ I’m so excited for you to start a reading journal, it’s such a fun hobby!! My bookclub is with some of my college friends, and then we each take turns picking the books. I’ll have to tell them about your comment, such a compliment that we choose good books haha❤️
I haven't gotten around to Kristin Hannah yet, because if I read historical it's usually with romance or fantasy, but I do have a few favorites that I love to recommend: -Saint Mazie by Jami Attenberg, which is based on a real woman from NYC in the 20's and 30's -We Ride Upon Sticks by Quan Barry, which is set in the 1980's near where the original Salem Witch Trials occurs, and it's kind of a wild and fast paced story, but genuinely fun and unforgettable -What Is Visible by Kimberly Elkins, based on Laura Bridgeman whose education at Perkins School for the Blind inspired Helen Keller's parents to seek out a teacher -Temeraire series by Naomi Novik, which is the Napoleonic wars but with dragons
THANK YOU for these recommendations!! They all sound really interesting, especially We Ride Upon Sticks and Temeraire. I’m very interested in Napoleonic history, and adding in a fantasy element with dragons sounds fascinating! And We Ride Upon Sticks seems like it might be a good fall read if it’s about the Salem Witch trials?! Definitely give Kristin Hannah a try! The two books I read by her did have romance subplots that I enjoyed :)
I can totally understand that! I actually considered dnfing it as well, on like chapter 4😅 I’m glad I finished it because I do think it got better, but yeah there were some things that majorly irked me while simultaneously there were things I loved haha

I loved Lessons in Chemistry- didn’t watch the show because I didn’t see how they could possibly pull off 6:30’s POV 😂
Right, I forgot they have a show! I might have to watch just one episode cause I’m always curious to see what characters would look like😂
Lessons in Chemistry is the only book I DNFed this year. I really hated the plot and the characters. I enjoyed hearing your perspective.
I can totally understand that! I actually considered dnfing it as well, on like chapter 4😅 I’m glad I finished it because I do think it got better, but yeah there were some things that majorly irked me while simultaneously there were things I loved haha
Dietitian’s breakdown of popular books incoming???
Haha oh gosh that’d be quite the video😅
