- Creating a recovery partition is a two part process. The first process is to create a partition if you do not have an additional Hard Drive to install the system image which is the the second part of this tutorial.

A very "clean" and clear tutorial, thank you very much ... Keep doing great job :)
Thank you so much...so this is something that I could use to restore my pc if it crashed, seeing that I have no Win7 disc to repair it with?
(a tech put Win7 ultimate on my PC. I have the product key, but no disc.)
The disc I can create with this method will restore my Win7 OS, and all the files I have presently?
thanks that's what i am searching for since many months
Thank you, I know that this was made in 2012 but it's still useful, I never knew how to create a partition like this 🙂
Thanks very much, i love your tutorial, but please, I have 2 questions: Firsth: when you say at minute 6.20 / 6,21 " REMOVE THE DISK FROM THE DRIVE" I didnt see when was the disk installed in the drive, and 2nd. in this back up, are included all additionals programs installed after OS and data storred ? Thanks for your answer, and please, excuseme, I am not english speaker and reader.
So I use the "Windows 7 installation CD", I can format my Hardisk “C” and then I can restore my previous image backup "Z".
1 The image backup includes also all driver (videocard, audio…ex)?
2 Can the image backup restore all advance setting I did on Outlook or Mozilla Firefox.. ex?
Thanks a lot for this video
appreciate this easy step by step guide!
continue the great work, thanks for sharing ur knoledge
Nice Video glad to see someone keep it simple
you do not need the CD, before windows start press F8 to have repair option then you can do it from there
If you have a System Recovery Partition already in place (correct me if I am wrong). My laptop came with no windows cd and had been upgraded by the seller to Windows 7 Pro from Vista. The seller erased the partition that allowed restoration to factory condition and never replaced it with a wndows 7 version. F8 will most likely not be sufficient in a worst-case wipe-the-drive scenario. You need the disc or a partition containing a recovery image with windows for that.

That's my situation. I was looking for an answer to that. Thanks.
thanks from making useful video, it did really work! nice, well-done!.
I was trying to make a new partition in my computer hard drive, I got a problem during making new partition Drive C. I've shrink-ed the volume and got unallocated drive, but when creating new sample volume, giving drive letter and so on and finally clicking on " finish" button I got the message < you can not create a new volume in this unallocated space because the disk already contains the maximum number of partitions.
Awesome !! I definitly have to do that. Thank you so much
if i were to do this on a fresh laptop and make a backup/repair disc while it had a recovery partition still installed and some way somehow later on down the road when/if my partition got deleted would i be able to use that disc to get my recovery partitton back? Or would it only install everything but my partition back onto the laptop?
Thanks a lot man. this video really help me a lot!
Great Tutorial!
Pardon my ignorance but how do I know what MY operating system partitiion size is so that I am able to set the new partition 5gb bigger than such.
Thanks!
MrCodaman since you cannot upgrade from 32Bit OS(W7) to a 64bit what you will need to do is to perform a clean install over the same C partition which will erase all data "this will not affect your D partition". Remember to move whatever files/folders you want to keep to your D partition and once the clean install is done all your files will be available from the D partition. A good rule of thumb is to partition the HDD in at least 2 so on C you have the OS and programs and D all your data!!!
Good explanation of a complex procedure.
Very nice video! Thank you. What tool are you using to create such smooth highlighting and zooming effects?
sir actually i wanna ask that if i create a recovery disc of my windows from backup and restore , would i be able to recover the company's add on softwares that i got with my laptop
I have got a recovery partition already but the thing is my stuff and windows are on same drive therefore i have total 2 drives one of windows and the other recovery partition , if i want to create another partition from my one and only drive , can i install windows afterwards using my recovery partition, if i dont create recovery disc and i just want to install windows from recovery partition afterwards then what should i do ?
Awesome info and help! Thanks!!
Hey thanks for the great video! Just a question. I would rather like to use a option/feature like what Dell or HP user where you have a recovery partition but do not need the windows& CD or repair disc. So its like you boot from the "recovery drive" is this possible?
Hey thank you Miguel, this is the types of videos i like
Good keep making good videos.
Near the end of the video (at 6:25), you say you'll have your OS the same as before. But what about everything else? What if I reformatted C right before the restore? Would I have all my data, all my settings, and all my installed programs also restored? (Or just the OS restored... as you stated in the video?)
hi, i have a question, say i already made the image backup, then i installed a new program in the local disk C, it will not be included or added into the image backup, right???? the content of the image backup is just exactly on the time you created it??? hope you will answer, and understand what i mean,
Thank you so much. Your video tutorial is very clear and detailed.
thank you
IT' SNOT!!! He skips over things!!!
Great videos miguel,keep up!
Great video. A couple questions. Does this image work with f11 (recovery from the BIOS), and is there a way of leaving an "untouchable" partition- ie restore your system without overwriting your data partition?

Excellent Miguel you gracias amigo...
The recovery partition can be executed with grub? For example, a samsung notebook has "samsung recovery tools" with windows and linux. In the grub I can see the recovery partition AND I can execute it in order to fix the computer. Can I do the same with the technique of the video?
I like your video but can we upgrade from 32 bit to 64 bit

I've just accidentally converted my one and only laptop hard drive, from basic to dynamic. And I want it to convert it back to basic. The problem there is I need to delete all the volume.(especially the boot, page file etc.). I need to ask , that kind of method is can be apply?.
i did everything you told me to do but i want me my laptop to format back with its factory settings is this process going to do that?
Great Vid ! ! Can you use this to restore WIndows 7 to a "clean" install state like when the laptop was new?
well it say i need more space to back up the thing my hardvie is 2terbaatyes so what do i od
Most computers allow you to press the F8 button for advanced boot options (like safe-mode). If you see a "repair my computer" at the top you can select this. Then there are options like "system image" that you can use to load your system image and restore from it. Obviously if you don't see the "repair my computer" option when pressing F8, then that is not available
Your best bet is to backup your files/folders/pics etc. to an external drive then perform a clean install of the OS on the HDD and as you do it partition the HDD. In 1 partition the OS and in the other your "Recovery Image" and even on a 3rd all your data. I always recommend to partition to keep all important data separate from the OS in case it crashes and need to re install. The only thing, any pre-bundled manufacturer software(crap) will not be present on the "Recovery Partition".
thanks 4 your valuable video
I have three primary partitions (OEM partition, Recovery drive and C drive which the OS is installed) and one logical drive, I don't have Extended partition. Now can I make a new partition ? actually I wanted to make it from drive C ? , which is primary partition with lots of extra space.
thanks,
My image doesnt use the entire space that it said it would require initially which was 95gb but the image is only using 20gb can i get that space back on my c drive if so how would i do this
Friends, all my laptops have all the data format. Please tell me what software I need to download to recover it is Windows 7
1. Does this save personal files as well?
2. Does the disk contain the personal files or just the software necessary for the repair with the personal files (if 1 above is yes) saved onto the recovery partition?
3. When I create a new system image, do I save it in the same location in the recovery partition - meaning will windows automatically rename/overwrite the previous system image?
Great video! you've got yourself another subscribe. going to do this on the public computer so if it won't start up i just start the CD and repair it from that partition. but one question: is this also possible with Ubuntu? doesn't matter wich way.

this is very helpfull.... thanks for this..
Am I to assume its impossible to recover your computer without some sort of recovery or installation Disk? Because it seems like you created a system image backup, that can only be accessed with the recovery disk? I know Acer has PQSERVICE default factory OS and settings that you can boot and recover with.
My problem is, I do not have my recovery partition, and my computer has gone mad. I want to recover it to factory settings, which is impossible ofc. cuz I don't have the recovery partition. and this backups my entire hard drive! is there any way to just get the recovery files?
you rock mate!!! But can you help me do that on a samsung rf511 laptop??? I installed a new windows and lost the recovey and now when i try to installl the samsung recovery solution 5 in=t says you have no partition on your gard drive! So is it the same process???
Thank you for showing us but how can i do it if i don't want to save No files from my computer only Windows 7 on the partition?
hello sir, I would like to confirm whether the same process explained above, can use for any device.. I mean like Sumsung windows7 laptop, del..etc..???
Hi Paul, can you make a tutorial where you show how to make a WIM file for recovery and integrating that into the bootup menu on Windows 7, that'll be so awesome.
Hello miguel. Whats up about the galactic entities?

Im trying to fix a computer that has a virus already and a system image was never made on disc. Can I create a system image using another windows 7 computer and use the disk on the computer that is not working ? Or do I have to download a copy of windows 7 and burn it has iso image and use the product key on the computer.
Nice job!

sir i want to know what is system reserved partition
Excellent video!!! But, I have a question: You said: You can't instal W7 from the repair disc.?
So my situation. I have 32bit W7, but i want to instal 64bit W7. I also want to save the documents from my old windows. I have partition C and D, in C is my current windows. So what should I do? Should i do what you did in this video, or it wont maybe work? :/
My computer came with a factory image on drive (D:). How do I back that up to a cd few cd's? When I do your steps, it tells me its going to backup C and D.....
hey miguel. I am trying to create a image with a disk. is that possible if i follow the same way you did.
When I looked at the Image (z:) it says, 'Healthy (Logical Drive)" it doesnt say primary partition
this system windows 7 can also recover the software and data which is present at the time of backup when we have taken the backup and also can installed the hardware drive of laptop or destop from factory condition point
Thank sir for this vary clear important video
Finaly i found the right video thank miguel

please say me how to backup and restore my data while upgrade xp to 7 my hdd is of 40 gb and my data of 38 gb
Excellent tutorial. Clear visual and simple instructions. I'm having a problem due to a screw up at Lenovo repair where they changed my motherboard but didn't link my Operating system to the new motherboard so now, Windows is acting like a new install and is asking me for a product key on a laptop I've had Windows 7 installed on for over a year! Anyhow, long story short, I saw in your video that you have that 100mb partition in front of your C driver too. I thought, because I recently partitioned my C drive into C and D that the partition software created that file and that was what is stopping me from using my restore disks (official Windows 7 disks from Lenovo), since I can't reformat because it can't find Bootmgr) The Laptop boots with no problem but the recovery disks can't find Bootmgr??? So, is that 100mb drive supposed to be there and it's something else preventing the restore disks from finding Bootmgr?
+Annettesmusic is that 100mb drive supposed to be there? yes. fix the Bootmgr missing goo.gl/6ZSC6N
+AvoidErrors
Thanks for getting back to me. IGood to know the 100mb partition supposed to be there.
That link you gave was for the error:
Bootmgr is missing
My error is:
CDBOOT: Can't find Bootmgr
I get this error when I put the Lenovo Windows 7 recovery disks in. It will not go past that screen so I cannot go any further with a reinstall of WIndows on my machine. I think I will have to send it back to Lenovo to fix this issue.
@@Avoiderrors hi i tried downgrading windows 10 to 7 but its not working please help me
Please can u tell me which software did u use to record this video
Thanks
