That scene at the condo was the most amazing piece of pistol craft I have ever seen. The speed at which he presented the weapon was fantastic. Now there was a scene in one of the early episodes of season one where Tubbs fired 7 rounds from a 5 shot .38 with no reload and no apparent editing for a reload. But the scene where the assassin demonstrates his prowess with a 1911 was, to me, the most memorable in the entire series. It had to be uncomfortable sitting with that full sized pistol in appendix carry.
Always hated how Tubbs NEVER reloaded his 'Smith in the entire series. Closest I've seen is in Tale of the Goat, and even then you don't actually see him use the speedloader. Contrast this with Simon & Simon which showed complete revolver reloads virtually every shootout.
I like that he's humble, I've noticed a lot of oldschool popular gun guys, especially exhibition shooters (I get it, it's kinda part of the point) are pretty full of themselves, talented yeah, but they definitely carry that visible ego with them. Jim is adding caveats to his accomplishments, sharing the success, talking about how others shot really well, etc. Class act.
i was shooting ipsc in orlando when this m.v. was shown and i to knew this is one correct t.v. show ...spot on ..we then did it in our matches for years in central fla
Jim is a great shooter, but it is obvious that the camera was undercranked when that Miami Vice scene was filmed (filmed at a slower frame rate so when played back at the normal frame rate the motion looks much faster than it actually was). It is obvious because one can see that right after drawing the pistol, Jim's shirt tail drops back down at a far faster speed than it normally would.
except likely not - look at the reflection of the trees in the building glass visible just in front of his face. in both the shooting shot and the mag-drop shot, the trees are fluttering at the same speed.
Idk. I looked at how some of the bad guys were shooting and they looked very awkward and uncomfortable with shooting the guns, almost like they were going to drop the gun.
That Miami Vice role Ludovici Armstrong was great!
...and he didn't utter a single word.
@@SIKE01 Exactly, only his gun utter.
"The Argentinian"
@@seaningram3285 Really... i didnt kno where is he from
@@pekkavalkonen1973 no, that is just what he was also known as in that episode.
It was amazing to see him, i could barely find anything about him, and it's just feels good to see him having a great time

Gotta give it the angle, or lack of, that’s comfortable. I appendix carry a HK45 often. And yes, epic Miami Vice scene.

Jims Mozambique shoot scene in Miami Vice was epic
I STILL remember that scene in Miami Vice. I recorded it and slowed it down to make sure it was real.
NICE. Still one of the best shooting sports shows on TV!!
Truly professional. 👍
I remember that episode and thank you!!
Loved you on Miami Vice
MIAMI VICE?
@@xirioslandon8040 they literally talk about the show during most of the video.
This is so great. I spoke with Jim recently and he will be attending the USPSA Area 2 Championship in Mesa (Phoenix) Arizona in November 2024.
That was great. There's a challenge where you have to recreate that; the real catch is that it has to be all in one take. I'll get there!
Great! Missed this when it first aired. Love Jim!

Thank you very much. Have a blessed week.
I’d no idea the coffee and doughnut assassin was a pro shooter.
Another good one,young Scoutten👍👍
Wish he would demonstrate Mozambique again!
I remember him from MANHUNTER. Excellent!
Great profile! Anyone know if Jim is still doing any firearms training?
When I saw that dude on Miami Vice, I knew he had to be a pro.
That limousine scene the way he pulled out from index position got into law enforcement!
Legend...great actor. He was awsome in Miami vice.
Did he play "The Argentinian" sniper for Calderon on Miami Vice
It's even more impressive when you've tried to run that drill yourself.
Damn Jim is fast ..Truly lightning..
I agree.
3:21 You can see the cable hanging out the pant leg of the guy who got shot.
Good catch! Seen this clip hundreds of times and never noticed!
What’s it for?
Calderón !!!
He was also on "The Wonder Years".
Yea, he shot Winnie Cooper in that episode didn't he?.....lol
I'm more relaxed when he's not wearing his killing glasses
That bank is exactly the one on the ps2 game scarface
Also called "Failure Drill"......🤔
Fucking King

It sure was fast when he drawed from concealment.
