An opposition to a thin deck is a lot of the card upgrades get consume I noticed. So you can pick the consume upgrades which are a little better by having a bigger deck. Another thing, I don't think you can upgrade infinitely. I noticed 3 little diamonds under the card portrait, one would "light up" every time the card got a new upgrade. Loved the game and wanna see more!!
@@A-SaturnaliaDevoid and colourless mana symbol.. If that is part of the cost it must be Eldrazi Linebreaker or Thief of Existence. If the colourless is anywhere on the card we got over 50 options.
How bad did Singh mess up that, after losing an arm, in a society where they can assemble parts and create animal monstrosities, they said nah, here is a weird monkey snake thing thats gonna be attached to you like a weird backpack to act as your arm.
It's the opposite, society is so messed up that backpack monkey-snake makes way more sense than just stitching his arm back on lol. Why have clock, when you can have teddybear-raccoon-clock, etc haha
Spoken into existence!!! Love the timing!! I do believe you can also just click the part and have it go to the slot besides click and drag- is this going to be a new series?
me: "Oh, cool, a fusion gam..." *sees the frankensteined creatures* "oh, it's that kind of creature mashing"... Aside from all the excellent feedback provided in the video (audio balance issues, some minor UI improvements and gameplay concerns), I'd like to say that while I'm glad for all the effort put into the art (it looks fantastic, even if I'm a bit grossed out by the concept), I feel like it fails to deliver a cohesive world. I'm fine not bothering much about the lore and caring only about the mechanics (Slay the Spire, for instance), but it feels like a real effort was put into worldbuilding and dialogue. I'm assuming the main conflict is humans v nature/monsters and we're living in a hostile world with the chimera vivification tech being developed as a tool to help survival, but it feels too easy/trivial to assemble a creature to really convey the dire nature of the world. Our character seems to be an orphan and eager to join the corps and the army people are grim and very dismissive of both human and creature lifes while simultaneously having a pet creature literally in their shoulders. The cheery character reads as a pokémon trainer in a world that feels more like monster hunter of a sort... The vivification center is referred to as The Mess, implying something akin to revulsion by the people living there, and yet our character says their parents would be proud they joined the corps. Again, the city felt safe and the vivification tech + dialogue "Oh if you die we'll just take your parts" makes it feel like there's no real danger in the job (I get it, it's a roguelite, but don't pull the game in two directions, either you are needed in the army or people just fight for fame/fun/money). I obviously already rambled too much, but I just couldn't help but talk about it because I feel like the game has potential but is currently undercooked. Reducing the number of options at the start and making the game feel more like Iratus where you have to farm and come back to assemble more creatures, maybe making it so not every creature is instantly obedient and docile (maybe we have a health stat too and monsters can attack us while we can only use the creatures to defend ourselves?). Build a world where it explains that the chimera tech is fairly new and not some trivial process, etc. You could even take a look at Magic's Ikoria worldbuilding to brew something more cohesive.
Absolutely agree. I feel some touch-ups can do some good too. For example just flipping Major Singh's picture; it makes it look as though his missing arm is now his Right appendage now instead of his left, while his left is now fully fine? I think the optimistic energy of the main character would work if it was a lie the army did to get people to enlist due to the desperate need. Once you're in you see how real it is, and it's too late to get out and you can't say anything about it otherwise you're monster chow. So an optimistic individual would just try to make the best of it until the job grinds him down like it did with everyone else. But yeah, absolutely agreed with the ramble.
It is a little surprising that they had body parts only affect which cards you get, having some stats attached to them would've been interesting, but I can kinda see why. There aren't exactly a whole lot of 'stats' you can change, other than HP.
Retormation, the OG who always won in the first try that even the developer did not think of😂 Will you also try the fairy tail dungeon, it doesn't have metaprogression, which is like dicefolk
this game is almst there but missing some core things: like the ability to actally see which trait the parts have (its so small as to be useless for me. The abilitty to look at the cardss associated with a part and decide based on aan informed decision not guesswork or memory. A rundown of the cards: what is impitus? why is it calked that. actuaolly just writing down how cards upgrade because the ccircle isn;t obvious enugh to most i;ve seen do the game. the creature type specifics seem arbitary one claw is no better then another as ffar as i can tell (but i;ve not seen anyone do more then one mission)~~ Clear displays of the effects applies to the creature, both firendly adn enemy, so you undderstand what is going on, a clear exp;anation o f how strengh and toughness change as you play cards: play 4 nnerfs them? What does personality actually effect? because it doesnt seem to be cacrd tyype. its also be niceto have the meat to money thing explainefd a bit better not just maeat=vellum which means nothing. the damage indicatorr is small and wwithh block its easy to not ntice damage. longer cards dissapear of th scrren when you hover them making them unreadable,m this is als true of the hovertips szometimes the graphics are good, i like that everone is scarredd. the humour is consistant (not quite my taste but harmless) the gameplaay has potential and im curiosse to see the wounds and more advancedd cards and optiod that require a longer play then any ive seen postedd so far.
The player uses reanimated corpses for missions, and the "trainers" are being treated like solders. So I say its a pun, and you're supposed to pronounce it as "corpse-men" but with a pause/emphasis on the "cor" part. That's my guess.
Thanks for covering our game!

I bought this game a while ago. They really did a good job with the final update. Give this game some love it is absolutely worth it
sad to know it's wrapped up already, I'm so used to following early access development I find it fun now
Experiment 626 is Stitch from Lilo & Stitch. Good reference! Already like this game, just for that.

Impossible Creatures II?
Deep cut, had the same thought!
Would you do a series/mini series on this? Would love to see more of it.
Is the only way to see what card corresponds to what creature the highlighting when hovering or is there some tell my colourblind self misses?
The one handed-guy art asset is flipped between start and end of run, making him missing a different hand... that's weird.
The next time you say "corpse-man" I'm gonna lose it
Major Singh went from having a missing left arm to a missing right arm! (They just flipped the image)
I noticed and laughed at that too!

Such a strange concept lol, would be a good mechanich for a mech themed roguelite deckbuilder,
Impossible Creatures deserves a remake.
I would this to be a series it’s interesting and if this becomes a mobile game at some point I would get it looks fun and creative 👍

you unlock a card path depending on the symbol of the part. it's really not that amazing

Seems fairly reminiscent of the necromancy game where you put undead parts together.

I mean. We're only seeing the most basic parts in the game so far.
Clearly having wing parts unlock an entirely new subsystem for instance.

It irks me that throughout the video Reto mispronounces "Corpsmen" as "Corpse-Men," but I'll get over it because we love Reto. ❤

Just because this hurt my brain the game would be pronounced Coremen not Corpsemen
It would be but the core concept is about stitching corpses back together so either actually works in this case imo
Yes, but the whole point of the game is fusing corpses lol
Yeah... I think in this case you said it correctly... but I'm like the original commenter, it made my brain hurt lol
